Fibroid detected in first scan 7 weeks pregnant

Hello All,

I am now 7 weeks pregnant through IVF. 2 days back I had my first scan saw the gestation sac and heard heartbeat too. But since then I have been spotting brown.

On my report a fibroid has also been detected(1.1*0.8), could the discharge be due to fibroid? When I asked doctor about the fibroid she said there’s nothing to worry. Report is good so u can relax.

Did anyone experience Similar thing. I am so worried.

No experience of this but hope someone else can advise you. It sounds hopeful if the dr isn’t concerned by it. I have had lots of spotting throughout this pregnancy between 6-14 weeks mostly brown but I did have fresh blood with clots at 10 weeks. They never found the cause of bleeding but reassured me that it had nothing to do with my baby. I’m 36 weeks tomorrow. Lots of women will spot during pregnancy but babies are fine. I hope can give you some reassurance.My midwife told me unless I was doubled over in pain with heavy bleeding like filling a pad every hour or less not to worry, brown spotting didn’t concern her in the slightest ( it worried me more!!!) I was advised to rest up by a GP till it eases up. Hope it eases soon xxx

Thank you Jess. I have been bleeding since I have bfp...but it got milder now and it’s getting brown as the time passes...hope it goes away soon...

Depends where the fibroid is whether it will affect the pregnancy- if Dr has told you nothing to worry about it must be well out of the way. Congratulations on the good news at your scan xxx
