How long to abstain prior to retrieval?

We were supposed to have egg retrieval on Wednesday so my husband "produced a sample" at 7am this morning (Monday) so he'd have enough for Wednesday morning's retrieval. However this afternoon we were told retrieval has now been delayed to Thursday morning 8am.

Do you think he should "produce a sample" tomorrow morning (Tuesday) or do you think a few hours over 3 days to ok? The Dr said more than 2 days but less than 3 days is good...not sure what he should do!?

I think should be ok, my egg retrieval was delayed by 2 days because of my lining and we did the same and the doctor said that wasn't a problem

We were told 2-5 days so you should be fine.

we were recommended 36 hours, but I guess it also depends on your husband's numbers, and on which technique you're using: IVF or ICSI?

If the clinic says it's fine, trust them, and good luck!

I guess it'll be roughly 39 hours so hopefully that's fine.

It's just normal IVF not ICSI. His miners etc were good at 65 million so fingers crossed!
