IVF Delivery

I haven’t been on here for a while due to lots of ups and downs in the waiting game. Very happy to say that my drugs are arriving today and I should hopefully be starting on the short protocol in the next couple of days.

Real mix of emotions at the moment. Above everything else I am so so happy and excited to finally be starting (can you tell this is my first cycle 😊), but..... a little voice in my head is so very worried that this one shot we are pinning our hopes on won't succeed.

Anyway, just wanted to check in and update you all and also see whether anyone is at a similar stage as me - cycle buddies welcome! X

Hi there,

I’m at the same stage as you, my meds arrived yesterday. It’s such a mix of emotions isn’t it. I totally understand how you feel.

Sending you lots of luck and really hope your cycle goes well. Will look forward to following your journey xx

Good to know I will have a cycle buddy! Are you on the short protocol too? When do you think you will start taking the meds? Wishing you lots of luck too! X

I’m on the long protocol (I think?!).

Start nasal spray during next cycle. I have a long cycle so it will be mid May before I start that, then move on to the injections. Terrified but hopeful! Is the short protocol straight on to injections? When do you start?x

Yep straight to injections. Start in day 2 or 3 of my cycle which is due on Monday eeeek! X

Good luck on your first cycle! xx

I had my first cycle this month, but unfortunately because of OHSS, we decided to freeze the embryo and do FET in couple of months. So pretty devastated by that now. Some tips: if you're in high risk group of developing OHSS ask your doctor what can they do to avoid it. And always remember no matter the outcome you're not in control of it, we just have to stay strong, hope for the best and expect the worst. Hope it helps xx

Thanks so much for the reply. How will I know if I am at risk? Did you have the long or short cycle - wondering if it makes a difference to risk of OHSS! X

I did the short cycle. I don't really know if it connects with ohss... but you're at risk if you're younger than 30, have PCOS, large number of follicles, low body weight.

All that you're feeling is so common! It is definitely your first cycle, haha! Best of luck to you, honey. It's perfectly normal to feel this way. I know it's hard to do so but remain positive. You can get through this, I'm sure! Keep us posted on how it goes!
