They should first check you for endo, no? I dont have experience in this so I can't say anything. Sorry, for not being that helpful. However, I feel like they should first test you before starting the cycle. Visit an endo specialist. Good luck to you. I hope things go well for you. All my prayers are with you.
They said the laparoscopy and investigations would delay our IVF and our consultant said she didn't want this to be the case. I really wish I pushed it more but I've just felt quite numb and perhaps too trusting of the professionals.
Would they not check for endo first if they have queried this? If you're paying privately for rounds of ivf ( or even with NHS rounds) they can be expensive and why spend all that money (or use up one of you NHS rounds) if you could have something from preventing it from working? I hope it all goes well for you xx
Hi! I'm in a similar boat as you and keen to get on with IVF but my gaeny and I believe it worthwhile to keep the NHS IVF rounds and sort out any potential issues that could prevent successful IVF. I know it's waiting longer however if you read my past posts, a lot of people have recommended investigations for endo in advance of beginning IVF and while I'm keen to just jump in and give IVF a go, it is sensible so I would just suggest to do lots of research! You may be one of the lucky ones that IVF works first shot without any other investigations but make sure it's the right decision for you and any questions or concerns, raise them with the specialist. IVF can cost 5k so I'm thinking long term rather than short term and I'm fairly certain I've got endo or tube issues which the lap will highlight so we can have the best shot of IVF when it comes around. Best of luck lovely xx
I suffer extreme tail bone pain every month before my period and, to be honest, all year round. I never queried this because I thought this was normal period pain. Only when I had infertility issues did they diagnose endo. The NHS have never taken my endo seriously. I used to ask my doctor about my pain and they never took me seriously.
