The Evewell/Colin Davis - Harley Street

Hi ladies,

It's been ages since I was here. Last time I posted, I think I had just had my fourth loss which was my second ectopic and was recovering from removing my remaining fallopian tube.

It's been a rollercoaster ever since.

We were very keen on proceeding with a clinic in Thessaloniki, Greece called New Life and have had great consultations and visits with them but on a friend's advice, we went to an open evening for a clinic on Harley Street called The Evewell.

It's headed up by medical director Colin Davis and two of his colleagues. It's hit so many of the points I liked about New Life (quiet, serene atmosphere, they don't take on too many patients at once, individualised care, you see the doctor constantly instead of being passed off from one clinician to the next and you're not just another number there) and it was a great experience. I've booked a follow up appointment with them for later this month to see the medical director because while we had a mini consult with a colleague of his, we didn't meet him as he wasn't in attendance at the open evening.

Has anyone been there? Is anyone a patient of theirs? Have you considered it?

The only negatives I see there are the costs and the fact that they're the only clinic to suggest we have PGS but simply for the reason that I've had four losses before and perhaps this would improve our chances of transferring a viable embryo and avoiding heartache.

I like that I don't have to go on a flight to get there and don't need to deal with the stress of travelling with my drugs and potentially alone in case my husband can't come. I like their approach and the fact that it's not far from work. I also don't need to worry about rescheduling a cycle because I want to be seen by Dr. Dovas in Greece and he travels (this has happened before) to spread the word about his clinic and he takes consults overseas.

An old nurse of mine from the Lister works there and we had a very frank chat about the clinic. We left feeling really positive about them and are looking for our in-depth consult with Mr. Davis in a few weeks.

We were going to begin a cycle in Greece in the end of March but I'd really like to consider the Evewell first so any pointers would be so appreciated.

Thank you so much!

Who did you decide to go with?

We are at The Evewell. Just had our first ever IVF with PGS.

I too had had two early miscarriages and had failed to fall pregnant in over a year.

At our initial consultation with Mr Davis he suggested IVF with PGS due to our history and because I didn't want to play Russian roulette anymore.

Just got our pgs results back yesterday and have 6 normal so that's great!

I find the Evewell good in that it's not crammed with patients like the Lister was. However they're relatively new and therefore quite disorganised. It's difficult to get an appointment. We only ever had an initial consultation with Mr Davis and never heard from him again.

Instead we've worked with Dr Dimitri and he's been amazing! Never made us feel rushed, very calming and positive. The nurses are all lovely. So far, so good! Let me know how you're getting on xx

Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone else used Evewell recently. We are considering undertaking treatment there, I'm a poor responder at 42 and also need PGD for a genetic disorder. I would really appreciate any feedback guys!!!

I'm still there. I think it's great. It's not chaotically busy like many other clinics.

Hi and thanks for your reply. Could you say a bit more about your case? Have you had any embryo transfers yet?

Hi there , I’m considering the evewell but not sure, have you had any success here yet? I’m 43 and not sure if they have good success at this age, thanks

Hi,I definitely recommend it. Amazing clinic. Very attentive Dr s. I had my daughter in August all thanks to The Evewell. Going in for my next FET later this month. I would go along to their open day and see how you feel. All I can compare it to is the Lister which was just far too busy for me
