Sorry I didn't reply on here for a while...we had bad news that after our egg collection, we didn't have any fertilised eggs left from the 9 they collected. We always do take a big drop (last fresh cycle, we had 15 collected and only 4 fertlised) but this really was sad news to hear. We have had our follow up at Guys since and they were very positive and think that we had just been very unlucky with this cycle, which I am obviously hoping is the case as we have never experienced this before.
Starting back up with a fresh cycle in April...has anyone else had a cycle where they just didn't get any fertilised eggs, but have done in the past? We did have a bit of a mix up with the first couple of days of taking the menupor (double dosed) and that could have had something to do with it, but obviously no one knows for sure.
Thanks all in advance and roll on April xx

So sorry to hear about the cycle but glad to hear they were positive at your follow up appointment
This hasn't happened to me but I was just wondering if you had standard IVF or ICSI? We've had ICSI for our past two cycles and even though the numbers were low we did get fertilisation so maybe it's worth giving ICSI a try? xxx
Hi Michael30, so sorry to hear this about your cycle. I do think that a lot of it is luck on the day.
My friend sadly didn't have any fertilisation on their first round of IVF. They had ICSI for their second cycle and had plenty fertilise. Following a FET they now have a 2 month old baby girl.
We are starting up again in April-May time too. Lots of luck to you xx
So sorry to hear your news - I completely understand your disappointment. Our first round of IVF they got 11 eggs and none fertilised - we were completely gutted. Just done second round (in 2ww) where they opted for ICSI this time and 5 out of 8 eggs fertilised this time. Worth asking if ICSI is a potential route for next round? In the meantime be kind to yourselves xx
Just had our first collection . All on ICSI... lost 70% on day one and still counting. I don’t think it discriminates really. I can’t even do another collection for months dues to OHSS. So sadly time is running out and not on my side.
I wish you the best of luck... remember it doesn’t discriminate... it’s nothing you have done.
