Hiya. I had a day 7 cultivation, rather than day 5/6. It was then frozen.
I had my first HCG blood test yesterday and and stressed cz I don’t know what it should/could be! My doctor has said to do another test on Friday. As it was a day 7.
But I’m not sure if it’s all over. Any suggestions/ or advice, would be really helpful, Friday feels so far away xx

My IVF consultants explained to me that day 5-7, in their experience, does not matter much. What it matters is that it reaches the blastocyst stage. While this stage is usually reached after 5-day culture, some could be a bit faster, and reach it in 4 days, or slower, and take 6-7 days instead. To avoid stress they do not share the cultivation length with patients (and also do not grade embryo). Therefore, in your position, I would not stress (easier said than done, I know!). I should also have a frozen day-7 blasto
Doing two blood tests 2 days apart is normal. What the doctor is looking for are values doubling every 48 hours, and a single measurement does not carry enough information.
Ya my HCG has come back as 1. So I’m convinced it’s a negative. Clinic wants me to do another blood test on Friday, as it was growing slowly in the labs and maybe it just a taking longer. But I feel like it’s over. Cz last time it was a day 5 and at this stay it was a positive 😢
I have read that usually the waiting time after a frozen is longer, 14 days, but I have no personal experience (mine were frozen at 3 days and then the culture was continued before transfer, so it counted like a fresh).
I would personally wait a few days more before throwing the towel
