We have just returned from our appointment at the fertility clinic. We have had 5 previous cycles of IVF the last one resulting in a miscarriage. Part of the plan this time round is the endometrium scratch which I had done last time under sedation. The clinic now told me they do it by firstly putting anaesthetic into my cervix. I’m freaking out! I’ve had it done once before with no pain relief and it was like a hot poker inside me which is why I went for sedation. Has anyone else had it done with anaesthetic into their cervix?

Hi I’ve had two done but never under sedation!! Xx
No sorry, I've only had it done once but there wasn't any discussion about sedation or anaesthetic. It wasn't nice but didn't last long. I thought the embryo transfer was worse xx
I had this done once but no sedation. I was awake and felt the whole thing which wasn't too bad. Uncomfortable and feels weird but I wasnt offered any anesthetic so didn't have a choice. Good luck whatever you decide
