I’m 9w+4 and I’ve just encountered some light brown spotting when I went to the toilet. I’m not feeling any pain or cramping but I’m starting to freak out. I’ve read other posts that have all been ok and I should only worry if it’s red or pink blood... I’m just in need of some reassurance! 😢

Starting to panic 🥺
Hey. It's perfectly normal. I read on a site that up to about 12 weeks it's normal as our bodies go through so many hormonal changes.
Don't panic unless you get pain or start to bleed enough to fill a pad in an hour. Call the epu for reassurance but honestly, all is fine xxx
Thank you 😔 xx
Hi KJLee,
I had bleeding up until 12 weeks, brown, red and pink. I know easier said then done but try not to worry. It’s normal for many women. If it’s accompanied with pain and blood increases then no harm in getting checked out at EPU.
I had this from 5wks right through to 14wks and at 13w4d it turned red and I went to the epu and I'm now 25w3d..... Absolutely normal everyone told me, some people's cervix just likes to get rid of the excess blood that's produced and not needed xxx
Hoping that’s the case! Just worried as my symptoms have disappeared and I’ve got a bit of lower back pain 😞 hoping I’m worrying over nothing xx
I found I had no symptoms until about 11wks anyway.... in my last pregnancy I had none at all.... take yourself to the early pregnancy unit, get yourself and bubba checked over and then you have peace of mind hun xxx
Try not to panic. I had this around 10 weeks and posted on here. I went to the early pregnancy unit just to be on the safe side and they scanned me. They couldn’t see anything abnormal or a bleed on the scan thankfully and just put it down to the cyclogest pessaries that I was using after ivf irritating my cervix. I’m now almost 33 weeks pregnant. It’s definitely worth ringing your midwife or the epu for reassurance xxxx
Sending you a big hug. Hoping the spotting has eased and all will be well xx
Try not to worry as the ladies have said. It seems some spotting can be fairly common but always seek medical advice if you are worried and need further reassurance. You can also pay privately for a scan just to be extra sure everything is okay if you can't wait until 12 weeks xx
Thank you all for your comments. I’m trying to get hold of the midwife this morning but there’s no answer. They said to call the surgery if I can’t get through but they’ve told me that they won’t pass a message on for me?!! I’m not sure who else to call 😞 tried the labour ward at the hospital as my leaflet said to call them if query is urgent but the line is constantly busy 🤷♀️ not quite sure what to do...
I was advised that up until 12 weeks if there are any issues call the early pregnancy unit (epu). If you call them they have everything you need. But really they will just reassure you that all is well. Please try them x
Just been to my doctors, they’re calling the epu today but appointment could be in a few days time. Keeping things crossed that spotting doesn’t get heavier in the mean time 🤞🏻 or even stops! Xx
UPDATE: had my scan today and all is well. Saw a heartbeat and it’s measuring in at 10 weeks. Such a relief! They reassured me that I did the right thing going in. They couldn’t find a reason for it but as long as baby is fine that’s all that matters.
Thanks to all of you that commented xx
Fantastic news! So pleased to hear all ok xx
