I’m on my second cycle of IVF and just had my second and final scan before collection. I trigger tonight. I had 10 follicles total and 6 over the 15mm but one was a whopping 26mm... no wonder I feel bloated 😂. I just wondered in people’s experiences if that’s a bit over cooked. I think my clinic chose to keep me stimming and overcook to allow other to catch up which is fine. Just want to set my expectations realistic for the number of eggs collected.
Thanks,
Rach xx

I had one 28mm at my last scan but doc seemed go think it could have been a cyst cause if was far too big! I wouldn't go by how many follicles at scan...my 2nd egg collection they said there were 9 follicles at my last scan yet they got 14 eggs! I think there is sometimes a few hiding behind others on the scan that they dont pick up. Best of luck to you!! 🤞🤞😘💕
Thanks nikib1980, that’s reassuring. The nurse did ask if I’d had a cyst on the previous scan but there hadn’t been so assuming the big follicle (15.5mm) from day 7 has made some quick progress. I only got 5 eggs at my last collection so we had been aiming for more this time. Here’s keeping fingers crossed some extra are hiding 😄.xx
Well if it is a follie it's probably too big to use anyways. But that's ok sounds like you got a good number and yes hopefully a few more than last time huh 🤞😊🍀 keep us updated 😘 xx
Hi, I had a similar experience. I had 2 large follicles (24-26mm) and was told they could be cysts or they could be follicles. I only had 3 other follicles so that was 5 in total. They collected 7 eggs in total so I wondered if actually the large ones were double-egged follicles?! Either that or they were so big they were hiding smaller ones behind them. Just a theory but it shows you just don’t know. I wish I hadn’t spent so much time worrying about it.
