As if I wasn’t feeling bad enough. I’ve been seen by the EPU several weeks ago and they told me they had communicated with the midwives to cancel my scans. I get home from work and there is a scan invitation letter. Thanks for reminding me how much my baby would have grown if they were still alive. I was feeling low already and this has just pushed me over the edge.

Pregnancy scan invitation after miscarriage!

I had this too but for my first midwife appointment. It’s awful and you would think they would be very careful with that sort of thing. Sorry you had to go through that xx

Thank you, it’s horrible you experienced that too x
I had the same... After a Xmas miscarriage, bleeding for a month and been so depressed when i finally started to recover received a letter with a big bold title "congratulations on your pregnancy...". I've ripped it apart and cut it into 10000 small pieces hahaha it helped.
They should check their systems first before sending such letters cause those kind of letter can bring the pain back....
Just chuck it in the bin love. Sending you millions hugs ❤❤❤❤xxx
I had this, though it was a text from my GP surgery not a letter. I rang the community midwifery team and spoke to the senior midwife there to complain. The upshot was that she spoke to the person who should have noticed the computer update (who would have been my local midwife) and gave me her own work mobile number telling me to ring her next time I got pregnant. Which I did, and throughout my pregnancy she has been my midwife. She’s been amazing, I’m getting great care from a senior midwife and she even comes to my house. Complaining was the best thing I could have done though it was difficult to work out who to complain to at first. RCOG guidelines are that you should not have to tell people about your miscarriage yourself so something has gone wrong somewhere and by highlighting it, you could be helping someone else avoid a similar painful scenario later.
Oh and my GP surgery decided to turn off the text reminder advice for midwife appointments just in case it happened again.
Good for you, this seems to be a really wide-spread problem that causes a lot of pain and it could easily be avoided
Thats awful, very poor form of them. Sorry you had to go through this xxx
I had the same experience, I found out I had missed miscarried day before my midwife appointment, I was at the hospital next day in the epu and walked over to the department and cancelled face to face my appointment for later that day.
I then received a phone call from the midwife asking for a reason why I hadn't turned up for my appointment. You can imagine how furious I was
Even after this a week later received a letter asking to rebook my appointment as I had missed it.
Sometimes it is a complete joke the lack of communication in hospitals.
Yeah my midwife rang again about 4 weeks after my mc asking which dr I’d switched too and I have another appointment coming up. She said she hadn’t been told and there’s a big gap in the system. My first mc the EPU rang to tell them but mustn’t have that time.

Sorry you’ve been through this too, just makes a hard experience even harder x
I got a letter like that too. The whole system needs improvement. I’m sorry you had to relive everything xx
