Cold during IVF

Hello

I’m on day 5 of stims, DH has had a cold for the past week or so, yesterday I had a sore throat and today I’ve got the cold too!! Feel so upset that this is going to ruin our chances, I really wanted to get another cycle in this year as its been such a long journey, it just seems that everything is going against me!! Has anyone else had a cold during stims and it has worked out ok? Thanks

I had a cold during stims and still had a bit of a cough at egg collection. The anaesthetist just checked my chest was clear and was happy to still go ahead, I had 12 eggs collected. I hope you feel better soon xx

Just talk to your clinic and if you are taking any antibiotics please let them know. Take care of yourself and I hope everything will go smooth.

It shouldn’t cause any problems but I do feel for you. Stimming can make you feel pretty crappy without a cold. I hope you feel better soon xx

It doesn’t make any difference I had a cold during egg collection and a week after I got bfp. I ended up mc but nothing to do with the cold or endo - my embies were abnormal xx

Oh no, that’s all you need. You can feel tired and under the weather as it is during a cycle without a nasty cold to top it off! Try not to worry. I honestly don’t think your cold will effect the outcome. Take care xx

Thanks everyone for your replies. I asked my consultant today and she said it should be ok as long as I don’t have a fever, which I don’t, but she did say its up to me if I want to cancel as it can affect egg quality. I hope she is just saying that to cover herself, I don’t want to cancel as so much has already gone into it. Just hope I don’t get a cough now as she did say we then may not be able to go ahead with EC. x
