I hope you’re all well! Life has been a little manic but thought I’d update you on the perfect ending to our journey!
On 18/08/2018 at 22.45pm our baby Girl - Dulcie Winnie Louise Perkins - arrived, weighing 6lb 14oz! She has been an absolute dream and following what was not an easy pregnancy, I have to say I had the perfect birth!
For anyone who is currently pregnant I can’t recommended Hypnobirthing enough!! I breathed my way through my contractions and on arriving to hospital, I was assessed to be told I was 9cm dilated!! I was then able to have a water birth as I’d wanted and within 1hr 20mins of arriving to hospital my beautiful girl came into the world! She was placed on me and not once did she cry! She opened her eyes and simply looked around - I was told that Hypnobirthed babies are often content and labour quick, both of which were true for me! I didn’t even have any gas and air during my stitches, I completely surprised myself and my Mum was in awe of me! In fact even midwifes on shift said how amazing I was - Hypnobirthing made that a possibility!!!
I was breastfeeding Dulcie but she lost weight and wasn’t gaining 3.5wks after birth so I had to do combination feeding with formula and at 6weeks Dulcie was on formula 24/7. I have to say breastfeeding was hard however I am sad now that I’m not able to do it. I will definitely try harder next time - if I’m fortunate enough to have a second child - as it really is a beautiful bonding experience and so much easier when your baby is hungry! I would recommend it to friends and make sure you get the right support. Unfortunately in this case I don’t think my milk was fatty enough for Dulcie!
All in all, it’s as everyone tells you, parenthood is hard but when your baby looks at you the tiredness, the discomfort your in is so worth it!
For those who are still on their journey keep positive and know that some day your miracle will happen and when it does you will be so in love! My daughter literally makes me cry tears of happiness!
Thank you all again for your support throughout my journey and I’m sure I’ll be back on here in future when I go for my second round of IVF!
Love to all xxx

She is beautiful. Congratulations!! We are hypnobirthing as well and feel relaxed about the birth with just over 6 weeks to go. Can't wait to meet our little miracle too.xx
That’s great to hear! You will do fab and I wish you all the best as you start this next chapter! Look forward to your update! Do you know what you’re having? Xx
Thank you. I am still amazed we got here. Very lucky. Yes, we are having a little girl too 💕💕 It's wonderful to hear a positive hypnobirthing story as well as a positive end to this hard journey we go on.xx
Congratulations! I can’t see the picture but I’m sure she’s gorgeous! I had a positive hypnobirthing experience too, after a very long-winded induction so would definitely second your recommendation 😊 xx
We just had our 36 weeks scan and we're doing hypno-birthing, hopefully with birthing pool at our hospital in the midwife led rooms. Before the hypno birthing course, we were so stressed about the birth and now we're a lot more relaxed about it, considering its so soon.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful story and congrats again xx
Can’t see your photo - but what a lovely update! So happy for you xxx
Congratulations - beautiful xxx
She's gorgeous!
I've not been on a hypno course but I have read a great book and I'm practicing the techniques, listening to positive affirmations etc. Hoping to have a positive experience however my baby is born!
