It’s the quality of the embryo at the end of the day but I am pleased and hope this gives me the best chance! The nervous wait now for confirmation if fertilisation!
Great number! Good luck xxx
Good luck xx
That is great, good luck.
My partner and I are about to start IVF. I have very irregular periods due to PCOS so I was put on two packets of the pill to try and force a period. Just finished the first packet. We have a meeting with the nurse on the 11th September and she is hoping egg collection can go ahead the week of 8th October. That is all we have been told so far. Does anyone know at what point my partner's sample will be collected as his work are trying to send him on jobs out of town so we are trying to put holidays in for his appointments so he won't be sent away for weeks. I don't want to pester the nurse any more as they were really busy every time I rang. Would anyone be able to give me a breakdown and order of things (time scales) as I have only met my nurse once.
Awh bless ! A usual time frame of IVF is 4-6 weeks if everything runs smoothly. Sperm would be collected near to egg collection so they can prep it before going into the egg. A few days wait for it to be fertilised then it's egg transfer xxx
Thank you so much. As I am a newly qualified teacher, my nurse has been trying to fit my appointments around my school holidays and had planned egg collection to be in October half term so I had time to rest. But because of my periods (that come whenever they want or not at all) they have moved things forward a few weeks. I didn't want to tell my head teacher at first. But now I have decided to tell him because it will be too stressful trying to fit appointments around school. Having a baby is the most important thing so he will just have to be understanding. I hope your journey is going well. I am very new to this and very grateful for any support. Xx
Hi, it depends on what protocol you are on as to how long you stim for. For me I started the injections two weeks again today. Your partner will need to be present for the egg collection and this is when the sample is done. You can either do the sample at home and take it with you ( think you would need to make sure it is in the lab within the hour) or your partner does the sample on the day of collection! Depending on how you respond will depend on long time you do the stimming. Last time for me it was 9 days and this time it was 13. The night after your last stimming injection you will do the trigger and egg collection is 36 hours later x good luck! Pm me if there is anything else you need to know
Thank you so much! I am glad I have found this group as I was starting to feel a bit overwhelmed and not knowledgeable enough. I have Googled and read lots but never find the right answers to my questions. My partner is trying to be supportive but he is away with work quite a lot and doesn't really see me at my lowest emotional times. We have just been on holiday and I broke down and told him how useless I feel and he has really started to realise the emotional rollercoaster we are about to start together. He is being really supportive now.
How long are you recommended to rest for after egg collection and transfer? I want to inform my head teacher with as much information as possoble as I am a teacher and he will need to put cover in for me. He won't be happy, but people who have babies naturally are entitled to attend appointments.
I hope you are resting and being looked after.
Sorry for the long messages. Xx
Hi, last time I had a week off but this time I am having two days as I felt myself after a couple of days last time and didn’t want to take more time off work. I’d say you fed need two days to recover at the least. You will also need the one day for the embryo transfer x
That's great wishing you all the best x
Great news - well done! Hope the fertilise & develop nicely for you xx
We have been told 11 have fertilised! It’s only day one but praying the keep growing x
That’s a good result. How are they doing now? How are you doing?
I had my trigger yesterday. It was Buserelin just like you xx
Hi, I felt abit bloated but by Saturday it seems to have subsided and I feel fine. I won’t speak to the clinic until tomorrow so have not got the foggiest! You must be sane as me then, I did get more eggs this time x
Fingers crossed then 🤞
All I know is my E2 levels were at 18,000 on Friday when ideally they should have been more like 10,000. I have 19 follicles. Of course I know this doesn’t mean anything, follicles don’t equal embryos. But I am feeling drained, bloated, a bit achey and queasy. Good to know you’re feeling ok though and I hope I’m as lucky xx
I have a good feeling for you. It’s surprising how quick you recover! I honestly wouldn’t know I had had egg collection Wednesday! Are you in for EC tomorrow? X
Yea 9am but we have to be there at 8:15 as hubby needs my help (being disabled) with doing his bit. So we’ll leave at 6 am. Can’t wait to be on the way back home and hopefully feeling better in the next few days! Thanks for giving me hope that I won’t feel as crappy as I do now for too long xx
You will be fine. I always feel a sense of relief after egg collection as it is out of our control then and you can go home and get on the couch! I watched The whole three series of married at first sight! Wishing you lots of luck x
