Hello ladies, I trust the weekend is going on well. Please I need your opinion on this, while on medications are we allowed to have sex with our partners?
I am afraid to because I feel I may get pregnant thereby jeopardizing the IVF process. My main reason for thus venture is to get a set of twins, I do not have any fertility issues.
I was told no unprotected sex after my period that was the start of my IVF cycle- I was on a long day 21 protocol.
Oh I see, unfortunately, I was not given any advise in relation to sex at all, I am just using my initiative. I am on the short protocol and I started medication on Wednesday.
I guess it is just safe to abstain until after everything.

Sex during treatment is fine but you need to use contraceptives , at least that’s what we were told xxx
I’m assuming you are aware that you won’t be guaranteed to “get a set of twins” just because it’s IVF? Don’t want you to be disappointed or anything!!
In as much as I am optimistic, I won't be disappointed if it doesn't happen.
Depending on how old you are and embryo quality, your clinic may only recommend one embryo to be transferred. It also depends on your own medical history- if you have a history of diabetes or blood pressure problems, they may say that the risk to carry twins is too great. There is also a higher miscarriage rate with twins and risk of premature birth so even if you conceive with twins, it may not continue. It is a lot to put your body through IVF just to get twins if you have no fertility issues as you have mentioned...

I will definitelt stick to what the doctors advise is safe for me and the baby. Fingers crossed!
