Ladies i'm currently on day 12 of injecting bureselin and still waiting on AF. My cycles have varied from 24 to 35 days but on average are usually between 27-29 and i'm currently on day 32. I feel like I have AF symptoms but nothing else yet and i'm due to have a baseline scan on Thursday. Do I need to inform the centre before the scan if I haven't bled? Any advice would be great. TIA XX

Delayed AF while on bureslin- is this normal?
At my clinic you only have a scan once you’ve had a bleed and are told to ring and delay your scan if AF is late. My clinic also allow you to go up to day 40 before they look into anything as burselin can delay things. Typical isn’t it, it never arrives when you want it xx
Thank you for the reply E_05 . I don't know if it makes a difference but this is an NHS cycle and when I rang up on day 1 I was just left with a voicemail of the dates of when I start my drugs and when to go for my baseline. After I collected the drugs and was taught to inject the nurse just told me again it would be on the 21st. No mentioned what would happen if I didn't bleed but after reading other experiences on here i'm not sure what to do. I know- typical body letting me down! Thank you for the reply! X
I was told by my clinic that buserelin can delay your period by up to 2 weeks and was told to call if it hadn't arrived by then. Definitely worth checking for peace of mind though xx
Yes buserelin can delay periods. I got to dat 12 of using buserelin and really started to panic. Then it came on day 13. What was terrible for me was that despite no AF for so long I still had PMT like symptoms. Very fearful and over sensitive during this period. Harder said than done but try not to stress
Just to add to the reassurance. My period came yesterday, that's day 16 on Buserelin and 7 days past my normal period date.
I also had PMS since the day period was supposed to be here and those days were filled with anxiety for me. My appointment is tomorrow, so it came just 2 days before the appointment.
So it will come just relax, my appointment isn't for a scan though, mine is for a blood test.
I'm not sure if you really need to call them because if it doesn't show, they might increase your dosage and who knows your lining may be thined put even without bleeding, so I will prefer doing the scan. That's me though, not a medical professional's advice.
This has happened to me twice and my clinic advised to continue with the Buserilin, delayed the scan and gave me a date to ring back if AF hadn’t arrived. Definitely let your clinic know that you haven’t bled yet xx
Thanks Sarahlou01 but i'm going to stick to the appointment as my clinic made it and didn't tell me to do anything different. I booked the morning of work too and as I work in a school they get suspicious if you turn up after booking time off and no one knows about my treatment so i'd rather not face any awkward questions. I'm hoping they will suggest I increase my dosage. I feel AF is immennient because I feel more sore today (sorry TMI) xx
No worries. How did you get on at your appointment? xx
Hi Sarahlou01 ! I told them I hadn't bled yet but they still had a look. My lining was 9.4mm so very thick and she agreed bleed was immennient and I said my pmt symptoms were stronger every day. She was checking to make sure there was no big follicles hanging around or possible pregnancy signs but there was nothing as I expected. She told me to take bureselin for another week and hopefully in that time I would bleed and they will scan me again next Thursday.
If that doesn't happen I need to call them to cancel and continue taking the bureselin but I may need to get some more. Got a top up of needles and syringes and she did suggest they could give me something to bring on the bleed if it doesn't happen. Xx
Hi lovely, I am only on day 4 of buserelin and my scan is 4th July but my clinic have said to call them to postpone the scan if I haven’t had a bleed by then (my cycles are anywhere between 30-35 days and the nurse said she thinks I’ll be calling to delay!).
Fingers crossed for you!!
Oh and this fet is NHS too xx
Thanks Pip89 . My clinic made the appointment for me but no one has told me to cancel and i've already booked it off work so i'm going to go along anyway in case they advise me to increase my dosage. I don't want to go into work when i've booked it off as i'm a teacher and they get a it funny about that xx
