Hi lovely ladies, I am about to start prednisolone (steroids) does anyone has recommendations regarding what to eat? When to take it? Any side effects to expect. I welcome your experience on this. Thanks 💖

Prednisolone what to expect? Any recommendations in terms of food to eat or avoid
Doesn't matter what you eat with it. May be best to take with food as sometimes people can find it irritates their stomach. I would take it in the morning with breakfast as it can keep you awake at night.
It may increase your appetite but short term use shouldn't cause any major side effects.
I'm a doctor and prescribe it for my patients all the time (although not for fertility reasons).

I’m on it and been told to take morning lunch and evening but my husband who is a doctor said take two in morning with breakfast and one lunch time: I’m not doing evening as it can keep you awake. No side effects for me but yesterday I felt very hungry so trying to munch on fruit and not chocolate!! Good luck xxx
I’m on two in the morning and two at supper for four days past transfer them down to 1 each in morning and evening. This is my second round with prednisolone. I find the insomnia the worst - trouble getting to sleep and then wide awake at 4.30am like clock work. I found the hardest last time was coming off them. I had a migraine for a week after my last failed transfer. I’m sure part of that was the grief of yet another failure, but prednisolone was my only new drug that cycle and the only one that gave me side effects so I blame it! But generally wasn’t too bad while I was taking it. Good luck!
Hi TheSpeedyDiva, thank you very much for sharing your experience. I am sorry to hear it keeps you awake. Can you take them all in the morning? How far are you in your treatment? Best of luck x
I’ve been instructed to take half of them in the morning and half of them in the evening so I’m sticking with that! I’m now 2 days past a five day transfer. This is my fourth and final FET (I had two freeze-all stimulation cycles due to risk of OHSS). I’ve decided to stop after this one as I feel like my quest for a baby is ruining my life. I just can’t handle the cycle of hope and devastation any longer. I’m looking forward to the finality that will come with the inevitable heart break of another negative test next week. Gosh, sorry to be so negative!!! It’s hard to stay positive after years of this :/
Best of luck for your treatment!! Xx
Hi I'm on 20mg dose daily taking 4 tablets a day and was told I can take all 4 in the morning.
There is certainly no problem taking them all at once. When patients are on a high dose I tend to split them between breakfast and lunchtime but never give them beyond 2pm.
