Ladies just did 3 tests and all positive! Should I keep taking it?? I am cautiously elated!
month 1 on dhea and it’s a natural BFP!! - Fertility Network UK
month 1 on dhea and it’s a natural BFP!!
I would not, it’s usually taken to improve egg quality. I wouldn’t risk taking anything not specifically for pregnancy now xx
Congratulations! I have been told that once I have egg collection I will need to stop taking the dhea xx
Congratulations! My consultant said stop taking DHEA after a BFP x
Congratulations!!! As the others have said, I would stop the DHEA now!! xx
That's amazing news Clara!
Thank you , can’t believe it. Who knows whether it was the dhea or one of the other many supplements I’ve been taking but delighted. Honestly come after what’s been a horrific week with my mum critically ill in hospital. So a wonderful surprise in many ways xx
Hope your mum gets better and you can give her the good news xxx
Aw thank you . She’s stable but has a terminal illness. But yes she’s talking so I can tell her, it will give her a lift for sure! She doesn’t know we’ve been trying as she’s been ill for nearly a year and didn’t want to upset her so will be a wee surprise for her . After nearly 2.5yrs of trying just feels like a wee miracle ! X
Congratulations that’s fantastic news. Can I ask what dhea supplement you’ve been taking and how much? I think it’s something I may look at.
Hope this news gives your Mum a well deserved boost.xx
Thank you! It’s from McPherson labs a micronised one . Brand is fountain of life . I’ve been taking 25mg 3* a day. I’ve also been on ubiquinol instead of coq10 this month . If you have low amh/ follicle count it might be worth investigating . Good luck xx
Holy moly this is amazing! Congratulations! I would ask your clinic Clara....when I took it i got told up to egg collection which would mean by bfp you can stop!xx
I know right?! I have been spotting on and off all month so that is making me a bit uneasy but just need to enjoy this moment ! I don’t have a clinic as such as after our failed ivf we’ve been getting the paperwork to move to a new clinic . I spoke to them both informally about dhea & they said worth a try so I got my baseline levels checked through medichecks and went for it. I am going to stop taking the dhea, thanks for the advice. Not sure about the other supplements but will probably swap for a pregnacare one or something and maybe keep up the omega 3. How ru doing? Xx
Huge congratulations! Amazing news! So happy for you ❤️❤️❤️ xoxo
Thanks Jess i can’t believe it x
By the way also meant to say maybe the spotting theory has something in it. I definitely had implantation bleeding this time. Spotting for 3-4 days from 9dpo but the difference this time was that it stopped rather than turning in to af! X
That is helpful to know thank you!
I’ve had to put my trying on hold now due to serious symptoms which are now been taking care by my endo specialists ; I’ve been and forth to GP since last year over it but I gave up because they were so dismissive “ it’s endo” they said; my endo nurse is horrified. I think once you’re under a specialist they don’t care 🤦🏽♀️xoxo
Oh you poor thing . The good thing is you are taking action , you sound like a real fighter , stay strong xx
Thank you. I think we all are otherwise we’d have given up 🤪 all the best with your pregnancy 😍 xoxo
I think you saying ‘low amh won’t stop you getting pregnant naturally’ in another thread went into my subconscious and helped me believe that so thank you xx
Absolutely amazing news lovely stop the dhea. Have an amazing pregnancy
💝😘💝
That's amazing news hun xxxx
Thanks so much! It feels great. How you getting on? X
I'm good thanks 🙂 Still battling to find some sort of routine but we'll get there! Will be looking out for your update posts xxxxx
Amazing news, congratulations! I'm taking dhea and ubinquol too. R u taking anything else that might have done the trick? Xx
Thank you! I was taking both of those (in fact just switched from coq10 to ubiquinol last month 100mg twice a day ) also took omega 3 with dha & epo. K2, D3, calcium magnesium citrate, vit b complex and on some days vit A, l’arginine and l’gluthathione. I also tried lying on my front after bd as I read that it’s a good idea for a tilted uterus (I used to always lie in my back ). I also switched to paraben free soap and shampoo a few months ago (and insisted on Dh using Sanex zero on his bits sorry for tmi). I also made sure all plastic tubs in the house were bpa free. I also wonder if being out walking and in the sun in the tww helped . But otherwise life was normal. I was actively trying every 2 days around ovulation but not during the tww and had a stressful week crying due to my mums illness. I did however have a couple of days break last weekend at Alton towers where I did the Waterpark and theme park incl roller coasters! I also had a couple of drinks (something I originally refrained from during the tww but 2 years later it was one pleasure I was no longer willing to give up. Hopefully that will now have been my last one for 9 months !). I would say my eagerness in ttc was at normal level so I don’t think the relax and it will happen motto applied to me. Good luck honey I think trying all the different supplements really kept me going mentally, as well as all you wonderful ladies of course. Don’t know if the supplements did it but I suspect one of them did so I’d say worth researching. Good luck xxx
After my bfp my fertility nurse told me too stop taken it as it’s too improve egg quality and ur pregnant so don’t need it anymore. Massive congrats hun xx
So happy for you hun, congratulations! Such amazing news xxx
Thank you really delighted. Obviously nervous but just trying to enjoy the moment . How you keeping? Past the 12 week mark now? You got a 6 week scan right? Think I shall be booking one! X
I'm 26 weeks now! In some ways it's flown by, in others, the worry does not stop! They are just different worries. I booked a scan for 7 weeks as you hear different experiences at 6 week scans and I knew I couldn't handle worrying for a week! I had spotting in the early weeks which, even though red, was not a problem for the pregnancy. I've also had spotting in the second trimester which is slightly more concerning as it came from having a low lying placenta. My point of telling you this is the spotting doesn't mean the end. If you get any, obviously go straight to the EPU. But don't immediately think the worst.
Enjoy the morning sickness that will hit in a few weeks, it's a great sign 😄 and enjoy every other moment of this. Can't wait to see a picture of your little shrimp (no kidding) in a few weeks xxx
Wow 26 weeks time does fly! Thanks for that tip on the scan I’ll try hold out an extra week . Also thanks re spotting I had implantation bleeding so kind of prepared not to freak out if there’s more . Keep me posted when baby arrives! Do you know what you are having? Xx
I had implantation spotting too. I thought it was the meds not working properly. We were on our way back from holiday and I had a massive meltdown on the plane, poor hubby! This little one is a yellow baby. I'm enjoying the guessing game xxx
I know as soon as you see that brown spot the heart sinks. Every other time for me it’s been the start of af but this time it got lighter then stopped so at that point I got hopeful. My boobs are also sore , great to have wee signs to hang on to, roll on the nausea! X
I think they recommend to stop the co enzyme too. Not sure about the others.
Thank you I’ve stopped it all. Just took folic acid yesterday but going to research the omega 3 and vit d which might also be good to take XX
Vit d and omega 3 are important. Vit d is included in all the pregnacares and Omega 3 in the more comprehensive pack.
Thank you I’ll look in to buying that xx
Congratulations! That's fantastic news! So happy for you xx
I was also told to stop taking at egg collection so I would stop. I did get told I could carry on with the ubiquinol.xx
Did you keep taking the ubiquinol? I think I will just stick to vit d, folic acid & omega 3 until I buy some pregnacare xx
Ubiquinol you are supposed to stop at bfp so you've done the right thing. But obviously you would normally take it through egg collection to help build up as necessary for the following month xx
Amazing. Congratulations xx
