Sorry to hear about your cp, so heartbreaking :(. I had Flare after 2 unsuccessful rounds of long protocol ICSI with 5 and 3 eggs collected. It's a short process with high dose drugs to try and produce more follicles. I didn't produce any more follicles on it, and for reasons unknown I ovulated before egg collection (they think it was an alternative trigger drug which didn't work for me), so it wasn't successful. Everyone is different though, and I was quite happy to try something different after disappointing egg counts previously. Now on short protocol which has worked best for me. Which protocols have you tried before? x

Hiya thanks for replying, sorry to hear about your disappointing rounds, hope this is the one for u. I had 2 long protocols with the nasal spray an then bemfola for stimming. My amh was 17 which was good so I was only on 225iu the first round and only got 3 eggs. Next cycle I was on bemfola started of on 300 but increased to 375 midway as bloods didn't match what the scan indicated. I got 6 eggs then but only 3 fertilsed, one top quality transferred on day 3 and none to freeze. Hubby thinks we shud stick with the long protocol, and bemfola only the dose would b 375 from the start as even though I'm a slow responder it still works ( as in eggs). I'm thinking something different but just can't decide. As u say it didn't do well for u just hard to know.

I was already on highest dose for my long protocol cycles due to low AMH. Unfortunately we have to completely rely on the consultants who are the experts to advise us, and it's not an exact science, so difficult to make decisions. Are you actually being given a choice? My consultant has always given us a recommendation and we've always gone with that after doing some research. A lot of trust involved. Best of luck whatever you decide xx

Sorry only getting a chance to reply, yeah well the consultant said ultimately it is our decision, I think because with the increase in the dosage from the first to the second cycleand the increase in the eggs from the first to the 2nd cycle he is saying we cud get more eggs by just staying on the same protocol but increased dosage. Or the other option for slow responders is the flare. It's just unfortunately a bit of trial an error.
