Clomid if you already ovulate?

Hello, I’ve read that some people are put on Clomid even though they already ovulate naturally. Anyone have any experience of this and know of the benefits if you do already ovulate naturally? Any success stories? Thanks!

Hi BrightonBelle85. Clomid can sometimes be prescribed just to enhance ovulation, to ensure it happens and also to regulate a menstrual cycle. it is sometimes used with a frozen embryo transfer or in conjunction with an egg donor. You are usually scanned regularly if you are known to ovulate, if it is used. Diane

Thanks Diane. I wondered if there was any point in asking about having it prescribed between IVF treatments? We are waiting s few months before starting cycle 2 and have never tried clomid xx

Hi BrightonBelle85. If you are ovulating, I wouldn't advise it, in case it should interfere with your next IVF cycle. Ask your specialist for his/her opinion. If I haven't already done so, I have a list of questions I could send you in confidence via email if you want.
