Surgery done - good and bad news.

Thanks for wishing me well 💗

So my endometriosis has returned not all surprised.

It’s in the samd location as before- pouch of Douglas.- again some on my back of my uterus anc rectum. Unfortunately it has grown back with much more there. And to horror she found endo spots within my uterus- she says that can’t be removed which makes me wonder if that caused my miscarriage. Really wasn’t what I wanted to hear. I ended up crying because I don’t know if I can ever hade a child with my hubby can’t help but think our baby dream is over 💔

Endometriosis was removed from back of my uterus but my endometriosis on my rectum has been left- she is referring me to a bowel specialist over my endo on my rectum, lovely condition Isn’t it. I’m told endo isn’t curable which I knew ☹️ I can’t believe it came back so quickly.

I was given a choice- try new or GnHr regulation then try again- I will be seeing her again 6/8 weeks time and I need to make a decision. Of course my mum and hubby want me to put my health first and get the endo sorted on my rectum and I think I should - means delaying trying. The bowel symptoms are quite severe and serious.

I’m going to try and see my fertility doctor to try and make sense of if all.

If anyone has had a successful pregnancy with spots of endo in the uterus please share- I really need them I’m so scared right now can’t stop crying 😭

oh my love, sounds really traumatic. i have never been pregnant and have no experience of endo, but you are in my thoughts and i hope you make the best decision for you and hubbie.

please don’t give up on your dream - you will be an amazing mum.

I guess I’m just a bit shocked by it but I’m seeing my fertility doctor this Thursday and he’s good at making me feel better 😊 thank you that’s so sweet of you to say I’m really touched 💗 and all the best to you and hope you achieve your baby dreams xofoc

Hi Jess,

I empathise so much with this post. I am in the same situation - I have severe endo on my bowel and it can be agonising at times (in January, I ended up in hospital overnight on morphine after my partner had to call an ambulance!).

We have decided to try a new fresh cycle despite having 3 frosties from our first cycle last November. This is so we can hopefully bank some more while I am still not too old (I am 41 in July). I am being referred to yet another specialist (the whole process seems to be an endless round of referrals, scans, laps etc) who can hopefully handle the bowel side of things - as I understand it, excising endo on the bowel can be risky and lead to complications.

Our consultant has been brilliant with taking the endo into consideration and advising on how we should approach things. My partner, like yours, feels we should put my health first, but I want to get on with the IVF.

Im sorry youre living with this condition- it can be so deliberating to live with. People think it’s only bad periods but it’s so much more- I talk openly to friends, colleagues and family to try and raise awareness of endometriosis.

Some medics are very unknowledgeable over endo- my fertility doctor assistant dismissed my symptoms and said endo wouldn’t grow back that fast- what medical school did she qualify from!!!! 🤣🤣🤣

I must admitwish that they had a bowel specialist on stand by during my lap to prevent delays 😂 they knew my bowel issues but maybe they had sort gynae than bowels next 😳

My hubby is set on sortimg my health first- they care and hate seeing us suffer like this don’t they. We would be exactly the same if it was the other way around 😘 I guess being in better health will be better for a pregnancy 😘 Its good the medics are being thorough 😊

Oh you poor thing, I really didn’t think it could grow back that quickly or get worse. So sorry for your news. It’s such a flipping horrible illness. You take care of yourself and try to rest up so you can process everything xx

Thank you endometriosis is hideous. I am shocked by it but at least the medics are doing all they can for me. we are seeing our fertility doctor this Thursday. Hubby is at home taking care of me.

I’m sorry to hear about you needing surgery again and I hope you are recovering well and aren’t too painful. I have endometriosis myself, it is a horrible disease. I wish you luck with whatever you opt for post surgery. Fingers crossed you get your bfp ASAP xx

Thank you. I’m sorry to hear you suffer with endo too. Endo is such a debilitating condition ☹️ I’ve got all the medics on my side doing all they can and I must try to have hope.

Good luck with your appointment on Thursday. I’ve been advised to delay my next round of ivf by 3 months so I can increase my iron, vit d and omega 3 which I’m hoping will improve my egg quality. So I’m now hoping for a round in July 🤞My dietician (recommended by the ivf clinic) has recommended the omega 3 supplements because it’s also anti inflammatory so will help reduce the endo. Xx

I just wanted to share my story to offer you some hope. I have severe endometriosis. I had a laparoscopy in 2015 and found out that one of my Fallopian tubes was fused to my bowel and the other to my bladder. The surgeon was able to free them both but they were badly damaged. My bowel has severe endo damage as well as my left ovary. After surgery I was told I’d need ivf to conceive. My ivf consultant put me on a three month course of zoladex to medically induce a menopause (to stop the endo) before my ivf cycle. I started my ivf cycle in September 2016 and I was one of lucky ones as I now have a 9 month old daughter. I was told to try for a baby first before I treated the endo any more as any further treatment could impair my fertility further. I wish you so much luck x

Oh bless you- I think I was shocked it grew back so quickly and much more there. Still don’t know what we should do but im sure our fertility doctor will be the one who can advise us luckily we are seeing him this week! Great timing 😊 I was told I could start trying again now- but we are very wary because of last time. Think I should see the colorectal specialist and see what he/she says.
