Collected 4 mature eggs from the 7 follicles yesterday but think it's game over for us

Embryologist called this morning to say my eggs were mature but have not fertilised over night! She will leave them overnight tonight incase they are just slow and will ring me tomorrow morning! I think that's it now I've given up hope on using my own eggs so need to decide whether to throw the towel in completely or try egg donor abroad! Sad day today 😞

Im so sorry this has happened to you. Might be worth having a word with the embyrologist as this may be a sperm issue, not egg or both. Sending hugs, I understand how devastating it is to feel like yuo have gotten to this stage for nothing....although my embryos fertilised mine all died in my fist cycle and its so upsetting!xx

Hi I hope you are ok. We had 4 eggs retrieved yesterday and only 1 has fertilised no idea whether it's any good or not but it is soo sad. I really hope your ok. Don't give up. If our little one doesn't make it we are gonna try again. My hubby has problems and they think there's something wrong with my ovaries too. Stay strong your doing all you can xxx

Hope you had some fertilized. Are you doing Icsi?

Hi ladies embryologist called yesterday morning to say that they still hadn't fertilised and that they couldn't do icsi because they only had a 4 hr window to do it and with my first cycle my eggs fertilised that it wasn't protocol to do icsi this time! They were sorry but had no idea as to why they didn't fertilise this time! Just that they had a 70 % fertilisisation rate at the hospital so if I had more eggs it would of made a difference! Shows you how each cycle can be totally different hey and very unpredictable!!! At £5200 a go the odds are too low to spend and try again . We will have follow u appointment soon maybe to shed a bit of light on things but being self funded we won't be doing ivf with my eggs again as I don't produce big numbers and the odds are low. If we do it again it will be abroad with donor eggs . Thanks for your support and I wish you all well on your journeys 😘 X

Sorry to hear that! I can only say that I completely agree with your thoughts, we had to move to DE abroad due to costs and not being able to keep plodding in with rubbish results. Hope you get on ok at your appt. Sending hugs, know it's a hard time!xx
