Just when I thought I was starting to feel less negative I read this which my OH tried to hide from me as he already knew how worked up I've been... devastated how can 11 eggs not make it to freeze? I know this means it's not worked, my embryo was a poor grade to begin with at a 5cb
I'm 6dp5dt, due to test on Saturday but I just know 😭😩

I’m so sorry to hear this but I’ve got my fingers crossed that the embie you have sticks and is truly your miracle baby! Sending you lots of luck and baby dust xxx
Sorry to read this I can understand this would have been an upsetting result as high numbers is normally an indication of success likelihood. It’s still possible the one inside you will make it as they will have chosen the best one I imagine. Plus inside you will be a better environment than the lab. Good luck xxx
Really sorry to hear that. I still remember that phone call from embryologist telling me there was nothing to freeze... if the embryos are poor quality there is usually a reason so hopefully the embryologist will be able to suggest something. Our embryos were ok until day 3 but haven’t done so well when reached the blastocyst stage. This might indicate problem with sperm DNA fragmentation. Keeping fingers crossed for your embryo, you only need one and you never know. Lower quality embryos can make beautiful babies too. Good luck xx
Sorry to hear this. I had 12 eggs collected in my first round, 8 fertilised, 5 made it to day 5, one was transferred but then nothing to freeze - apparently the embryos have to be top grade to be frozen. I was so upset when I had nothing to freeze after starting with such high numbers. I'm currently on my second round. To help improve my egg quality I was advised to take DHEA and ubiquinol. This round I had 10 eggs collected, 10 fertilised, 7 made it to day 5, 3 were top grade - so one transferred and 2 frozen and the remaining 4 discarded...so if the one you have had transferred doesn't work, ask your consultant what you should take to improve quality for next time, if you're able to do another round. I have no idea if any of my 3 embryos are going to lead to a pregnancy but I'm feeling good that despite getting older, I was still able to improve the egg and embryo quality - so don't give up hope xxx
Unfortunately it happens! I had 17 collected, 16 good eggs, 11 fertilised, 7 good embryos and 2 top grade that I had at EC and I was unfortunately be the 1 in 5 person who miscarried and the other embryos weren’t good enough to freeze so here we go again... !! Good luck with your 2ww 💕 xx
Sorry to hear you haven’t had any to freeze. The one they transferred will be the best quality. I don’t think 5cb is a bad grade - my clinic froze one of my embryos at a slightly worse grade than that and they say they only freeze good quality ones. Try and stay positive for that little embie inside you. Good luck!
Sorry to read you’ve had to deal with this difficult news today. That is very disappointing for you and your husband. Wishing you lots of luck for the rest of your 2ww and fingers crossed for a positive outcome. Hoping your clinic will be able to offer you some answers in relation to the sad loss of your embryos xx
Hey, we were in the same position... 10 fertilised... only the two we had put in on day 3 made it. Just concentrate on what’s making a home inside you for now. xx
I hope to offer some reassurance. I speak to another ivf lady who had two poor quality embryos put back on day 2, sadly none made it to freeze. She fell pregnant with a singleton after convincing herself it wasn't going to work. I know it's different for everyone but all is not lost, you still have a chance. Good luck. Xx
Hi Emh89
It’s really tough and so difficult to understand why these things don’t work. I never imagined before I embarked on this process all the different steps where something could go wrong; getting through each seems to be a major achievement! If it’s any comfort at all, I’m having my treatment at same clinic and they seem to be really good. I though didn’t have any embryos to freeze ☹️
Wishing you all the luck in the world for a positive result x
Hope this gives you some positivity- we had 10 eggs collected 9 of which fertilised, we had a top grade one transferred and unfortunately none of remaining were suitable for freezing I remember feeling so upset at the time thinking we have no back up now if the one transferred didn’t work - however roll on to now and I’m 24 weeks pregnant and our ‘one’ so far hasn’t let us down! In the end I decided it’s best to focus on what I have got rather than what I haven’t - focus all your energy on that one little embie you’ve got growing inside you! Wishing you lots of luck and baby ✨✨✨ x
