IMSI

Hi everyone, we had an initial consultation today and we were recommended ICSI + IMSI. Have any of you had IMSI? Did it help to get a positive result?

Yes, while we were NHS we had ICSI due to DP lowish sperm count. When we went private they carried out further tests looking a DNA fragmentation of DP sperm and advised IMSI which is basically ICSI where they actually inject the sperm into egg but they use a powerful microscope to pick a healthy looking sperm. We went on to get 6 blasts over 2 cycles and got a BFP first transfer which ended in MMC but went on to have another BFP resulting in healthy daughter.

Before IMSI never got to blast , and I was 2 years older with a lower AMH etc.

Your welcome and good luck on your IVF journey my advice is to see each stage as a hurdle and each hurdle you get over is a success.
