How far are you moving and are you going to be under a different ccg at the new address?

we are moving 70 miles from where we are and the other thing is my husbands job is at the moment on a 6 month contract its likely the company will increase the contract to further 6 months but not guaranteed. I dnt know what to do if i should call up my clinic and explain plus they are useless for giving the right info. I dont want any more delays...Dont know what to do. What to expect.

At 70 miles I presume it's not the same county which means you change ccg which means it might be different nhs funding guidelines and i guess you have to reapply for funding if available. Could be better or could be worse. Fertility fairness website has details of the different ccg funding guidelines so you could check.

How far are you from starting your ivf treatment at the current clinic? Are you willing to travel in for the treatment?

Im now waiting for my dr to send my ivf referral to the clinic where ill be having my treatment. The place i was being referral to before doesnt accept patients with hp b. i found out this own my own and made the dr aware not to waste time sending my referral to somewhere where they will only reject the referral . So now im waiting to hear bk from clinic as to where they will now refer me to. The other thing is i may be moving after 6 months again depending where my husband gets a job. Mayby we should stay where we are at untell treatment is over. He can just travel to work. Ithink its easier this way i just dont knnw what to do.

I don't know if it's the same but my process was dr referral to fertility clinic, fertility clinic completed tests and recommended ivf as the only option and started nhs funding application, then we had to wait until the funding was accepted and then we had to wait on the clinic to cone back to us with appointment slots.

I presume you've had funding accepted and are just on the waiting for the clinic stage. I'd definateky call up the clinic even though they are a bit useless and explain you MIGHT be leaving the area soon due to your husbands job and all where you are in the waiting list and whether its possible to be bumped up. You can also give them an idea of where you are moving to and ask what the process would be.

Some ladies have said if you move then it could be worse than even starting again as some ccg won't even let you apply for funding till you've lived in an area for a set amount of time.

Good luck x

Thanks honey for your help. My dr said it will tke 3 weeks for referral and 3-4 months for ivf to start. Its been now 3 weeks n im trying to contact the dr but never get the chance to speak to dr plus the secretary is on annual leave. Do you think i should ring up the hfea and ask them explain to them or avoid this . im just scared to loose my only ivf go.

Hfea control the standards of the ivf process (not mixing up embryos etc) they wouldn't be involved in the nhs funding guidelines so i don't think they will be the ones to ask.

If you know the clinic you are being referred to is try there first and see if anything had come through for you get but it's very early in regard to the dr timelines they gave you.

My dr knew nothing once they'd started the referral process.

The other thing might be to try to phone your ccg where you are getting your funding from. Again only speak in hypotheticals about having to move. Ask where you are in their process and timelines involved and what they advise. I'm going to guess that if you are moving out of the ccg you lose the place and funding and start again at the next one whatever their guidelines are.

Fertility fairness website maybe more help. You can't be the only one who has had this issue.

Thank you so much for your help. I rang up the ccg where ill be moving to and they have said oh we have moved so i rang them up then they said oh you have come through to the wrong place but the lady was so nice she said she will find out for me exactly who to ring. Hopefully it will work out. Thanks honey again for your reply. Best wishes. xx
