Can anyone recommend anything I could take to control mood swings? During AF and around ovulation my mood swings are horrendous. I actually can't control it. I know I'm over reacting to things but I can't stop myself. It's horrible โน๏ธ
I feel like I'm only 'myself' 1 week of the month lol. My poor OH has been on the receiving end again today, I feel terrible about that. I've also spent the morning arguing with an eBay seller over a ยฃ3 item lol. Something I'd normally just let go (it's ovulation time which is why I'm so irritable)
Thanks for any advice anyone can offer xxx

I've found I have terrible mood swings around ovulation. Ok during af but we normally end up having a big row monthly around ovulation so now I track it and tend to try and say when I'm feeling irritable to try and keep the peace! Have you spoken to the docs. I know there are vitamins and stuff to take for pms but I wouldn't like to take anything when ttc when checking x
I have awful mood swings too after doing some research it's our hormones on one out of balance I started taking maca and it's helped loads not just with that but my skins got so much better and it gives me lots of energy too. Give it a go it might help you. It has it's own way of balancing hormones naturally rather than these man made medicines that seem so cause us other problems. Hope this helps
Trust me I was a horrible cow for years never knew why because I'm such a laid back kind lady normally except for hormonal times. But maca has helped loads. Xx
They might suggest Vit B6... my mum used to shovel it into us as teen girls.
I take a supplement called theanine or L-theanine, an extract from green tea. I take for low mood, rather than mood swings, but its supposed to help with GABA production that the body needs as a base for most/some(?) hormones... I'm not good at tracking stuff, but I think I feel better on it, and worse when I run out...
Thanks for your reply. I'll have a look at maca. I'll maybe book an appointment with my doctor just to see if their able to give me anything that will help ๐ Xxx

Hi Amanda86. You could try vitamin B6. You should be able to get it from a health food store, or even have a chat with your GP who may write you up for something. Hope you soon find a solution, as i's not nice. Eggs, wholegrain bread and cereal may help too. Diane
Me too 3 days before AF I could literally have no control I'm just irritate myself and feel so angry ๐ก I actually feel like I lose my mind! I've been out of my car on a 3 lane carriageway on the red light walked up to a car that cut me up then had the nerve to flick me the V sign and blame me for their errors and so I've banged on the drivers car door hurling all kinds of abuse at them!
I've been to the GP they did sod all!
What's Maca? I might try that lol that or maybe one day you'll see me on the evening news LOL
