Okay I thought I was fine and ready for whatever was thrown at me.... but I've suddenly started to freak- egg collection tomorrow morning and petrified it's going to hurt π I'll happily take the big baby comments right now, because that's how i feel π³
Could anyone tell me their experiences please; good and bad- I'd rather be prepared if it is going to hurt than go in naive.
I was under yes, but i know other ladies that wernt and didnt feel anything. Actual procedure was fine, just some pain in the couple of days after so just spent plenty of time resting, good luck you will be fine xx
Aww I was exactally the same I never been so scared in my life but honest there is nothing to worry about I was given the medication and I went to sleep didn't feel a thing woken up in recovery room there was some pain after but the nurses will give u pain relief π u will be fine don't panic and good luck...p.s I wasn't allowed my other half in maybe it clinic will xx
Ah I really pray I'll sleep, but I'm only having light sedation so don't think I will π At least my OH will be there straight after if not at the time, he's my rock! X
OH was allowed in yes. Although he felt a bit feint and had to leave the room for 5 minutes π I had conscious sedation so I was awake throughout the procedure. It did hurt a little but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and when it did hurt I got a top up of pain relief through the drip in my arm. It wasn't as bad as I'd feared! You can do this! πͺπ» xx
Oh gosh ππ they're not made of the same as us women! I think that's what I'm having, they said light sedation. I can do this πͺπΌ thankyou Tugsgirl!!xx
You can!! If I did you can, I was terrified too, honestly but you'll build it up to be worse than it actually is and when it's all done you'll think "Ok that wasn't nice but it wasn't as bad as I thought!" Good luck π xx
Ps I think the reason my OH was allowed in is because I only had the light sedation x
what you're feeling is understandable. I was nervous before mine. Seriously though, it really is a doddle. My OH wasn't allowed in. I would imagine every clinic is the same. I was sedated but didn't fall asleep. It was totally painless and I didn't feel a thing down below. How many eggs do you have? I only had 4 so it was extremely quick. I won't lie, it's painful afterwards and the anaesthetic from the procedure will wear off quickly. I struggled for about 48 hrs after and cancelled seeing friends the day after as I couldn't stand the thought of getting on a bus being jiggled around. Some ladies go back to work the next day though so everyone's different. Whatever happens, its totally doable. You'll be fine! Best wishes xx
I'm off work now so I can't imagine me doing much afterwards either hopefully lol! I have three of size, but a lot of little ones. Thankyou for your wishes xx
Hiya. The actual procedure was fine. No pain at all and I was out for the count. Hubby wasn't allowed in not that he would have wanted to be. It was sore afterwards when I moved around and I needed to sleep off the sedation for a long time. I've got mine again on Friday and don't feel too bothered about it which is s good sign I think. Good luck. xxx
The scariest part was lying down and looking up to see people in surgical gowns. As the anaesthetist put the drugs (sedation and painkillers) in, I remember him saying my arm might ache for a minute and then that was it ... I woke up to find my husband next to me and that I was in the recovery room. Apparently I was really groggy and had a conversation with him that I completely don't remember - I just remember demanding food and water! It was all over so quickly and I didn't feel a thing during the procedure!
I had sedation last year. They struggled to get my eggs (which was indicative of my poor quality eggs we later found). I'd say I vaguely remember being uncomfortable but I was fine after I'd slept off the drugs and there was no pain at all. Good luck xxx
I had light sedation for mine and don't remember a thing after closing my eyes. OH wasn't allowed in but I was out cold so didn't really mind. He was there when I went in and waiting as I woke up so don't worry about that bit chick.
You won't feel a thing if you are sedated and after its like bad period pains. Nothing us girls can't handle. πGood luck tomorrow, you will be fine. Hope you get lots of lovely eggs xxx
my other half had to wait in the room I was getting ready in. I didn't feel a thing as I was under light Anaesthetic, when I came back round I was given a hot water bottle to put on my tummy. Good luck you will be fine. Xx
I think we all had the same feeling .. your on the IVF train and you can't get off !
Remember the goal at the end and I am sure you will be able to get through it
Try thinking it in another way ?? Like the start of something new and exciting.. what you have been waiting for .. the more stressed and upset you are the less your going to enjoy your journey. Once it's over I am sure you will realise how awesome YOU are !
Stay strong the drugs are the hard bit !! And you still have the exciting 2 week wait ! Got my fingers crossed for you
I am getting a little jittery now too, mine is hopefully next Friday. Does anyone know how long before I will know the actual day of EC and transfer? I had thought it was really last minute notice. Am hoping it is next Friday as I can take weekend to relax oh I thought my OH could be in the room, I hope so. He is really excited!! Lol!
Lilli79, you'll be fine! I had light sedation and can't remember a thing, I'm a little uncomfortable now but honestly not half as bad as if worked it up to be. As a lady told me, remember the end goal! You can do this! Sending lots of luck x
