NK Cells Treatment

Has anyone had treatment for high levels of NK cells? Mine have come back high via a specialist but my new clinic doesn’t seem too worried. I am waiting to see what the treatment will involve before I start my 3rd cycle. Any advice would be helpful 😊

Hi

I had high NK cells for 2 of my cycles (from Chicago blood tests). Treatment was steroids aspirin and also IVIG transfusion before transfer.

I also have high cytokine levels which I'm taking Prograf at the moment for.

Best wishes for your next cycle xx

Thanks for replying! I’m keen to try the treatment in the hope it will stop the implantation failure! Good luck to you too 🤞

Mine weren't awfully high but a bit raised and my clinic chose to give me intralipid infusion and to be taking a gentle steroid called prednisolone. Has the private clinic not given a recommendation?xx

My new clinic doesn’t believe in testing for NK cells but as I know mine are high, I am testing and being treated elsewhere. I think it’s wise I have the treatment as I have already had 2 failed rounds and my new clinic are ok for me to take the meds whilst being treated x

Yes, sorry I meant the clinic that tested for NK cells making a recommendation. Its definitely sensible to continue using the meds for this even if your new clinic doesn't....if nothing else but for peace of mind!xx

Totally! I should know more and get a prescription after my appointment on the 20th 🤞

Prednisone isn’t a gentle steroid unless taking 10mg or under. Be careful, it can really mess up adrenals if not careful.

I will be on 10mg!

Hi ladies. I have asked a couple of clinics where I've been at to consultations with if I can have steroids to treat the killer cells if( I have them )but neither of them will do it. how do you get your clinic to let you get the steroids? Or where can I get tested for killer cells and how much will it cost? All the consultants I've mentioned killer cells to say there's not much evidence for it and one month a test may say you do and the next it doesn't. Also how do you know if you got high cytokine levels? Help desperate to try steroids but no one will give them to me x
