I'm so worried

To cut a very long story short, I've been trying to conceive for a while and I'm now on cd 61. I've had no cramps no sign of my period but also no sign of pregnancy. After being at the hospital for a long 5 hours yesterday I still have no answers. Tests are still negative and they've told me to wait another week and test again.

Anyone been through anything similar? X

Hi kel_X, yes, you aren't alone. I assume you are not undergoing treatment but are referring to a natural cycle? 2 years ago, my 30 day cycle jumped to 58 days with multiple negative pregnancy tests. I was so confused. I obviously don't know your particular circumstances, but it could be that your body geared up to ovulate at the usual time, but for a particular reason, it did not. This would lead to a delayed ovulation which is actually more common than people think. Your luteal phase is always the same, but your ovulation date may differ and this delay may be brought on by anything or nothing...stress, new medication, over exercising, diet etc.

It may be (I obviously can't say for sure) that your body has ovulated a lot later than you expected it to, which would then consequently make your period later. Another potential option is that you did not ovulate at all and your body may be preparing itself for your next cycle.

You were very sensible going to seek a medical opinion and hopefully your period arrives soon. Although it is massively frustrating, it does sometimes happen, so hang in there and I hope you feel happier asap xx

Hi kel_X Not too sure what is going n here. Are you down regulating, or just waiting for a normal period. If you can let us know where you are with what you are doing, maybe we can discuss it. Hope all soon returns to normal whatever you are doing. Diane

I'm hoping for a pregnancy but if not yes just a normal period

Hi Kel_X Thanks for explaining. I must admit that by now, something positive should have shown up pregnancy wise, either with test strips or blood test to check beta hCG levels. If not, then maybe you need something to "kick start" your period back into normal rhythm again?? Hope all is soon resolved one way or another. Diane

I was hoping that the hospital would give me a blood test but they told me to wait another week and test again. When I go back I'm going to ask for a blood test again. I just want to have a clearer image of what's going on.. thanks Diane

Hiya Diane, thanks for your concern. Unfortunately I am still in the same situation. My doctors are terrible and my appointment isn't until the 9th May
