First scan went well!

Had my first scan today, went well my lining is coming away and had a good number of follicles 😊 must stay positive acupuncture later now! Second lot of injections tonight now, egg collection is the week after next, can't believe how quick things are moving! So nervous for egg collection mind xxx

hi, it's normal to be nervous about egg collection, especially if you've never had any kind of op before (I haven't) but when the nurse first explained it to me she said you won't feel anything and if you are twitching they just up the painkiller which is exactly what happened. I was awake for mine but sedated, just felt dazed. The tummy pain after was not great but easily controllable with hot water bottle and painkillers. You'll be fine! Good luck for lots of eggs!xx

Thank you is it that bad? Thank you for the comment, did you have acupuncture on your cycle? I'm having it later on xxx

it's really not bad at all. I'm a wimp and it's completely do able. I never had acupuncture. Just had time off work the day of collection and 2ww xx

Did you take the entire two week wait off? Sick? I'm undecided yet but will defo be taking a week sick cxx

my work have been quite understanding. We get 8 days sick allowance at work. I had egg collection on the Fri and work gave me Fri, Mon, Tues as extra sick then i took the remainder of that week from my sick allowance. I took the following week(this week) as holiday. Test day Friday. Must admit I'm starting to go a bit crazy now!

I think I will go sick, how does it work? I work for the Nhs see, so we get sick pay but not covered for Ivf, would get some special Leave but wanna use that for after egg collection and transfer be on same week, im just gonna say to them I'll see how I am the following week, but phone in sick on the Monday and take the rest off. I don't wanna take all my holidays cause it might not work first time. Xxz

It will all be done before you know it! Good luck for your treatment lovely, staying positive and relaxed is the best way to approach it. I was so nervous before egg collection I got myself so worked up but it was a breeze! I feel asleep when they sedated me and woke up 20 mins later feeling very refreshed haha! Xxxx

I'm sure you'll be fine, just take it a day at a time for now and try not to think too far ahead as it can be a bit overwhelming! Keep us updated 😊 Xxx
