So I'm ready and raring to go for round 1 now, all I have to wait for is af to make an appearance! I'm a mixed range of emotions, mainly nerves! I'm due around the a week tomorrow but as I have PCOS with longer cycles it's been known to be early or late! Anyone else waiting to start that's brand new to this? Also - Is it me or is it frustrating when people say 'ooh it's exciting' when you tell them you're starting treatment?! Drives me mad! X
The first wait... : So I'm ready and... - Fertility Network UK
The first wait...
I must admit, I was far more nervous than excited. I did get that from a few people that in their eyes it was exciting. I think a lot of people think IVF is a given and it'll work first time. Of course for some it does so we have to be positive but those of us going through it we know there are many hurdles to jump and we have to be realistic. Good luck for your cycle and best wishes everything goes smoothly xx
Hey sparkly, good luck with your cycle, I to are awaiting af to start its due in 2weeks then start a short protocol, hopefully start of may with tablets xx❤🌈💋
I'm doing a short protocol too. I thought it would be nice to speak to some first timers starting around the same time! I'm getting period pains so I'm definitely going to be starting in the next week, I'm so nervous 😐 what drugs are you starting with? Xx

Yes I am a mixture of nervous but also excited to start as I feel I am finally doing something, but also realistic, I have a very small chance with my own eggs, but giving it 100% my best shot, I start with norethisrerone, then prostab injection, then gonal f, it's what they call a flare up cycle, hoping it does that, "lets flare them up" good luck with urs xx❤🌈💋
I too am awaiting AF before commencing my treatment!! Think it will be Thursday/Friday... very mixed feelings about it.
Completely agree that when you tell people they presume it's definitely going to work first time so they find it all exciting!
Good luck with your treatment!
Are you on the short protocol then as well?
Xx
Ooh yay another person starting around the same time. I thought it would be good to speak to some people going through it at the same time. Lessen the burden. I'm finding I'm carrying the burden at the moment.
Yeo Short protocol for me. What drugs are you going on? Xx
Yeah definitely- I'm assuming we will need the support going through this!
I think women do tend to carry the burden anyway.
I'm not entirely sure about the drugs because they had to wait for me to have a scan and they said they will go over everything when I go to the clinic after my AF.
Think it might be the Cetrotide protocol with menopur.
How about you? How come you're doing the short protocol? Xx
I've got pcos so I have to do the short. I'll be taking gonal f and cetrotide. Did af arrive? I've woken up to a visit from her so its all go now! Argh! Xx
Hey, Hope you're good...?! I'm on my 1st Cycle of IUI treatment. So, fingers crossed get the IUI on Friday and then have my 2 week after that.
Yeah, I'm nervous and stressed out about the unknown. I think people say it's exciting, because it's exciting for them, the thought of a possible new baby. I don't think they appreciate the journey we go through.
Good luck x
Good luck with the treatment! The unknown is so tricky, I'm a control freak so this is my worst nightmare as it's the opposite of being in control! I think I keep forgetting that I could actually get a baby out of this, I just presume it won't work after so many years of bad news! So difficult. I really hope it works for all of us x
I too will be starting around the end of april/early may. Am very nervous but also eager to start. I have pcos and am never sure when af will arrive so could be early may start. I'll also be on the short protocol.
AF arrived today ladies, all systems go! 😳 argh! xx
Yes that irritates me too. Obviously they think self injecting is exciting 😡
