Back from second follow up appointment πŸ˜„

Hi ladies

Just home from meeting with original consultant.

We went over everything again in much finer detail, we have seen that of 5 eggs only 3 were viable, all three fertilised and by day 3 exceptional quality. By day 5 two of them were equal par, we had one transferred, one frozen and one didn't make it.

Sperm quality was checked and that was ok too, of 12 vials of frozen sperm they only used one so we have 11 left.

I did react better once they upped the drugs and should we need to have another fresh we would use short protocol and higher doses.

He gave me details of appeal and this would be an exception case review. I've booked to see our doctor next Tuesday to discuss this.

Also decided on scratch and blood thinning injections, he didn't seem too positive about the steroids just yet.

So we are proceeding with our one and only 5 day frozen blast.

Feel much better after today's appointment and he didn't make me feel like it was all my fault. He also didn't mention egg quality at all just next time we need to get more!

So all in all I'm now in a better mindset πŸ˜„

Amazing the difference a doc who will take the time to explain makes

Holly

Hi mommabear

Thank you. We will be funding the FET - as soon as my period starts I have to call for a 21 day appointment for my scratch and to start the down regging prostap.

I have printed off the CCG procedures for managing individual funding requests, also found out that my GP is actually on the decision board of directors so going to go begging next week.

I have to have a plan and be doing something, the consultant today was much better than the last one so I am now re energised. I truly hope that our FET will be the one but I need to have a back up plan in the event that it is not.

Hope you are ok :)

Holly xx

Fantastic news I am so pleased for you, shame they don't all have the same care and compassion xxx

Hi Button

I know - to be honest, when I walked in I looked at him and said ''I am here for a bit of hope''

He Said

''I won't give you hope but I will tell you the truth''

I think that is all any of us want... the truth, spelt out clearly with a plan of action at the end of it...

We don't need to hear 40% chance and old eggs and negativity, nor do we need false promises, just an honest opinion with an honest plan.

Some of these consultants need a lesson in sympathy, in honesty and compassion.
