Zika virus

I've had a last minute opportunity to go to turkey on a Family holiday next week, I am hopefully starting IVF in July but just wondered if it's ok with the Zika virus spreading?

Any advice would be great

Thanks X

I personally wouldn't risk it. Wr had to sign papers to say we'd not travelled to a country with the virus. If we had treatment was delayed by a month and if you tested positive for the virus then it was a 6month delay. Not worth the stress or wondering if you've caught it. I'm a mossi's favourite meal so know i'd have been bitten dozens of times so didn't want thay worry. We did a log cabin with hot tub in this country at the start of my DR which was so relaxing, more so than an abroad hol and got me all set up for the cycle x

Yes that's what I thought would I be then stressing about it after which won't help. We've waited so long for this I guess ur would be silly to take such a risk now when we are so close to it.

Thank you for your advice and best of luck in your journey X

Has it spread to turkey? Government websites usually tell you this, but I didn't think it was in turkey x

I checked and turkey or surrounding areas are not affected x

You might find the Zika travel advice from the FCO useful. I've pasted the link below. From what I can see there is no Zika virus in Turkey. We actually went on holiday to Turkey for a week before starting treatment. It gave us much needed rest and relaxation before we started.

Thank you, I rang the clinic but she just read from a leaflet of what I've already read and that's only if it is active. She advised to ring my doctor and ask but I asked them before when we were going to Mexico and they wasn't helpful so we ended up cancelling it, so it would be nice if we could get a little holiday in before we start IVF. X

It looks as though there is no active Zika virus in Turkey so you should be fine x
