Well, my period started in earnest today so I'm all booked in for scans and blood tests tomorrow morning. I also decided to go for some acupuncture on a whim. I've always been petrified of needles so I never considered it but that's just something I'm going to have to get over so I thought I'd give it a go. It was ok. They hurt a little in my hands but otherwise couldn't really feel them.
Here we go.: Well, my period started in... - Fertility Network UK
Here we go.
Hi, that's good to know - I booked myself in for a few sessions and am not really sure what to expect!
It was fine, not as many needles as I'd feared, some took me by suprise (like the first one right in the top of my head) but the lady I saw was incredibly reassuring and I hardly panicked at all, which is a miracle for me. I once passed out just because I saw a draw marked 'syringes' at the dentists office! 😉
Good luck! Hopefully I'll start mine not far behind you! I was also looking at acupuncture but don't know where to start looking- do you mind me asking what sort of price range They charge?
Best of luck 😊 X
My initial consultation was expensive at £150 but from now on it's £50-£60 a time. I used the British acupuncture council to find a registered therapist to help calm my fears about it. I chose a lady who specialises in fertility. She said she usually asks people to go once a week and ideally she would like to start 2-3 months before IUI begins. I'm going twice a week to make up for lost time. I have no idea if it will work but I know I felt a lot more positive leaving her office than I did when I went in.
