Hi Tamtam1. So sorry you are suffering! No, it’s not funny. Right now, when you give the injection, make sure you stretch the skin first and hold it stretched. Put the needle into the “stretched” skin in a straight line - and give it very slowly. When you then take the needle out you will have left a “zigzag” path, so that the fluid stays put. It is meant for intra muscular injection, so if any gets into the fat above the muscle it will lead to inflammation and will take longer to absorb. I wouldn’t rub the area afterwards, as it will encourage the fluid to move up through into the fat. If you are particularly worried about any pain caused by injecting, then pop and ask your GP for a prescription for some “Emla” cream or similar. This is a local anaesthetic of Lignocaine that you put on in a big “blob”, don’t rub it in, then cover it with a clear patch (need to ask GP for those too). Leave for 20-30 minutes and wipe off. Result – pain free injections! This cream comes in a single dose tube and you squeeze the lot on in a big “gob stopper” lump. No need to suffer. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Hi Tamtam1. Be a brave girlie and you will be fine! it's never easy doing injections, but at least you've got hubby to do them for you - he'll be fine once he's done it once. Good luck! Diane

I had these injections and they did hurt but hubby was better at it than the nurse at the hospital. He said that I tensed up and that made it more difficult, but it did hurt. Sometimes it bled a bit afterwards and sometimes it didn't. Are you doing them on alternative sides each day? This seemed to help but after 16 days it was hard to find a bit that hadn't been stabbed.

The only good thing with the injection was it was over quickly, pessaries are a bit messy.

I am on day 2 got at best another 14 days or longer if I get my BFP 🙏🏽

I was on these for 12 weeks hon, I can only say you do get used to it! I found doing them a bit higher up the butt cheek hurt less. Crossing everything that this is the one for you. Xx

Hi

I was on these last time, I did them myself not easy as they go in the very top part of your bottom. Preferred to do them myself rather than other half being medical and used to doing injections. Make sure it is the upper outer part of your bottom, possibly higher than think as this part of the muscles is not used so much is softer and therefore less painful after. Best to give as you go to bed so muscle is relaxed after. If you other half is doing them lie down so muscle not tense. Give really really slowly. I had no lumps or bumps but I realise I'm more practised. I'm on pessaries this time and actually think I preferred the injection.

Good luck
