Nutri Thyroid & IVF/Pregnancy

Hi, I'm taking thyroid medication and Nutri Thyroid. I find the Nutri Thyroid has really helped me since I started taking it. I've more energy and just feel better. I'm in the very early stages of pregnancy. Is Nutri Thyroid safe when pregnant? Has anyone taken it while pregnant? Thanks.

Hi lfhbm. I really feel that if you have been prescribed thyroid medication by your GP then you will be having regular checks. Adding something that could enhance or interfere with this medication is not worth the risk when pregnant (my thoughts). There is so much development going on during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, so you need to avoid any unnecessary problems. Do discuss with your GP before carrying on with it,

Hi Diane, Thanks for your reply. I've been taking Nutri Thyroid since February. And I'm now in the 2ww of ivf. So it's not a change for me. It's something I've been taking all along. I just got scared that it might not be good for a growing embryo. I wanted to know if anyone else is on it and has taken it through pregnancy. L.

Hi. I am at home today but just read your post. I have never heard of anyone taking it before, just thyroxine. As your body is used to it, I don't think it should be a problem, but might be too much taking both when pregnant, would be best to check with doc. Diane
