So its been a couple of weeks since my egg collection now. Before collection I was told that I was high risk of OHSS so they froze my embryos so that they can do transfer after I've had two periods. I have already had one, and just waiting for my next one which will be free of all the drugs.
When I was told that they were deferring I wasn't really given the chance to ask any questions. Can anyone tell me roughly how long after Day 1 of my next cycle will I have to wait for transfer? Tia x

Hi. Remember that clinics do vary with their approach to treatment cycles. The way often used for a natural cycle FET, usually involves telephoning your clinic on the first working day after Day 1 of your period. He/she will then advise you when to commence the Clearplan ovulation kit (or similar) or daily blood tests to detect ovulation. You will have an ultrasound scan to confirm the development of your follicles. The transfer of the embryos will be timed for two or three days after ovulation to prevent multiple pregnancies, depending on the age and development of your frozen embryos. On average 2 out of 3 embryos successfully thaw. On the day of transfer you then phone the clinic to check if the embryo/s have survived the thawing process before attending the clinic/hospital. The embryos will be transferred in the same way as a fresh transfer. You will probably be prescribed progesterone pessaries/gel after your embryo transfer. DO NOT stop the medication unless instructed by the clinic. You will then do your pregnancy test approximately 14 days after transfer, as usual. It is important that this test is performed even if you experience bleeding. Hope this helps. Diane
