Hi, I think you mean the Embryoscope or 'Caremaps' in Care world. It is supposed to take photos of the embryos really frequently which is supposed to aid the selection of the best ones to put back, it also means they dont need to be taken out of the culture in order to be looked at by the embryologist. We were going to have this done but they ended up saying that we couldnt, do to a small infection they discovered (which thankfully didnt affect our results). The embryologist told me that embryos 'self-select' anyway - eg, if they are good enough to be frozen they are good qual. We were lucky that we had quite a few. I suppose if you had a small number and were debating which one to put back it could prove useful, but in hindsight I'm not sure it is worth it - would have been around £800 for us xxx
It’s extremely imperative that IVF clinics should do routine documentation and provide photographs of the embryos to make patient happy. After creation of embryo in laboratory and transferring them into the womb, it’s not in the hand of doctor's for their further growth. Conventionally doctors monitor embryo by removing them from an incubator once a day and study their development through a microscope. But now with the introduction of embryoscope system like the one available on ilexmedical.com , monitoring of embryos become quite easy as it can take photos of every embryo for the entire duration of the incubation period. It helps them to know embryos proper growth and can achieve successful pregnancy. Even for the patients seeing their own embryos can have an emotional experience which surely makes them excited.
