Hiya NikkieNak79, I'm the same, we found out last week that we will be getting ivf but I have to lose wee bit of weight first. This sight has been great being able to talk to people that going through samething x

Hi Drimnacarry11 we are due to start our first cycle in Dec 13 and feel like I have waited so long that I can't believe it is eventually here where about's in the country are you? I am in Cheshire and have waited approx 5 months since being told that we are going to be doing IVF but was referred in to fertility services Oct 2012.

The consultant has run through the process with me but has not yet told us the name of the medication we will be taking although I know that I will be having medication in a tablet form first then two weeks of injections

I hope you manage to lose the weight you need to to pursue your dream of starting a family:) Do you have any idea of timescales where you are??

xx

Hiya I stay near Glasgow. I'm due to go back and see doctor in January to see how am getting on. then hopefully find out when we will be starting. I wish you all the best with your treatment

hi I have just joined also and also have to go through ivf, due to me having 2 miscarriages and 2 ectopic pregnancies, resulting in my having my right tube removed and now I had a laparoscopy on the left, now the tube has stuck together, I have been with my partner 4 years and still nothing I a being reviewed at the hospital and also have to loose weight b4 I can carry on I have lost 4 stone up to yet but have another 2 maybe 3 stone to go.. which I don't mind cuz im a curvy girl. I'll get there. just been ready about ivf and come across this group thought it would be a great support for me as I don't know any1 that has gone through this, so have nobody to talk to really x

in reply to

Hi Lisa

I know that feeling about feeling like you have nobody to talk to it is a journey you are going through that no matter what kind advice friends/family give until your here and living through this experience will anyone really understand. I am sorry to hear about your experiences that is just so sad. But seriously good for you losing all that weight thats just fab and I'm sure you will manage the final 2/3 no problemo!!!! Did they say why the tube had managed to stick together, is this as a result of the laparoscopy???? x x

in reply to

I have just joined this forum too and it looks very supportive

Hi NikkiNak79, have just replied to your other thread but thought I'd ask where in Cheshire you are? I'm on the Wirral x

Hi louiemac73 I'm in Chester so not too far! So what stage are you at in the process? I'm literally just waiting for my next cycle then fingers crossed the ivf begins! We had to have our bloods donand then once cycle starts have to call up the fertility nurse and make an appointment for my meds and to learn how to inject myself! Exciting but scary times x

in reply to

NikkiNak79 - I had the appointment with the nurse last week. I'm going to be injecting once a day. I was hoping for the sniffing thing but apparently it was all sold out!!!

Hi Nikki, we've had bloods done and at our appt on Monday I'm guessing they will tell us how we will proceed and then we'll wait for cycle to start at beginning of December although we may have to wait till January. We're at the Hewitt, very nice but it is when you pay! IF you want to email me, maybe we can swap numbers louie_mac73@yahoo.co.uk x

in reply to Louiemac73

Hey we are at the Countess for part if the treatment and Hewitt for the ET! We also will have to wait fir next cycle at end of dec beginning of January as the labs close down for servicing over Christmas! Do you know what protocol they are putting you on! I believe the Hewitt do the long one? I'll definitely email you later just getting ready for work! x

in reply to

Hi i am also at hewitt. Ive got my last consultation 2mos and i was hopeing to get started. I didnt even think about it being closed at crimbo i was hopeing to get started asap.x

Hey sum1sweeta I think it may be the same for you but who knows! I am due to start my monthlies Saturday and I have been advised to ring the unit when I do. But the consultant calculated the dates and said we would need the lab open so it would have to be my next cycle! I understand Hewitt do the long protocol is that what they have advised you Chester have out me on the short one! Seems like we may all start at the same time! X x oooh exciting but scary times

hi ladies, nice to hear tat you are all on the same boat. i am waiting for an ivf and icsi aswel.im really nervous and excited at the same time. i was reffered last year November. have seen a consultant and have all the blood tests done, i have a follow up appointment on the 9th dec, i cant wait for them to tell me when my cycle will start. im in London

Hey Sum1sweeta

Hope all goes well today! X

Hey Shirley it feels like forever I bet! I was also referred last year and the process of lap and dye and hysceroscopy plus endometrial scratch and investigations bring me to where I am today!

All I can say is the hysceroscopy and scratch have been the worst part for me so far it blooming hurt! And at my last consultation a few weeks ago they said I will be having it done again month pre ivf!

Yet my friend has just had Ivf/jcsi and didn't have the scratch so who knows! Have you completed all investigations now? I remember just wanting to sleep to get to my final appointment where they gave me a start date the wait is hard but hopefully for all of us worth it!

X x

Hi just been for consultation they said my partner has to have a genetics blood test and has to go bk to the hosp twice to freeze sperm.. and i have to have an endo scan next week. Its ashame because i thought we were done with all the tests. She we will have another consultation in around 6 weeks. Hopefully things will start then x

in reply to

Hey how are you getting on with the process? You said that you were hope fully having a further consultation in 6 weeks at this last post x x

hi sum1sweeta, my partner has to do the same, he had gone through some genetics blood tests, and had to freeze his sperm as well, i have had the blood tests done. we have follow up on the 9th dec, cant wait to see what they have to say this time. i was supposed to start my cycle in september, but due to them overlocking some test, they postponed the cycle.

i havent had the 3d scan yet, i was told by someone that it is painful.now nikki has confirmed it.lol im trying to be positive asbout bhe whole thing, but very very nervous, as i am quite a chicken when it comes to needles and stuff.

so ladies please share ur experinces as u go along please.

Hi, it's nice to be in the same boat as other people. I am waiting on my appointment to come through to start my ivf. I'm scared stiff about it all.

Hey Shirley

I didn't mean to worry you the check if the womb area is uncomfortable but there are no needles involved its like a smear until they push the thin camera up through your womb lining which is bearable just not nice and I think at the time I was probably really emotional at getting one step closer! You will be fine x x

Hey Eadie

Any idea when you may be starting? Have you had all investigations?

I know that feeling the waiting game!

I have had two laparoscopy's and been diagnosed with endometriosis. I was put on the list end of May so I'm just waiting now to hear. Have been told it could be any time from 9 months to a year. It's a horrible waiting game. I am so scared though, never thought I would be.

thanx nikki, i was told this scan is saline scan, where measure n things internally. its a dummy embryo transfer scan.

yes ladies waiting game is horrible, my roller coaster ride has onky just started.

in reply to

oooh have never heard of that it sounds pretty similar though maybe different terminology as the hysceroscopy they use a fluid and the have a look at your womb check it all looks ok!!!

Eadie from the point of being told I was having IVF it has felt like an eternity but only because this is something I want now!!! Fingers crossed its more the 9 months than the 12 hun x x

Hi nikkinak,

I want it is much now, I'm finding it so hard to deal with and feel like i have been waiting years and years. Thanks I hope it's nearer to the 9 months to. xx

in reply to Eadie31

Hi Eadie

How are you getting on with your wait any news yet? x x

Hi NikkiNak,

I'm still waiting. Phoned before Christmas and got told that it could now be Nov 2014 before anything happens. I feel so useless, helpless and hate the whole waiting. I'm at my lowest at the moment and don't seem to be dealing with it too well at the moment.

How are you doing? xxx

in reply to Eadie31

Hi Eadie, I know how you feel, from the point of referral to date I have waited 16 months and boy what a 16 months it has been, I have been angry, sad and upset quite a bit. Do you have any support groups where you live? Where abouts are you? I have just had my ER on monday and got 16 eggs of which 8 fertilised so just waiting to go back for ET now!!! Did they say why Nov 2014 now? xx

Hi NikkiNak, I don't know of any support groups near me but hope I could find one. I can't understand the length of wait. I'm in linlithgow near edinburgh. I hope everything goes really well with your ET and all goes well for you. xxx

Hi Eadie, I had a look on the internet and there was a thread for a support group located at this address in Murrayfield, might be worth trying to get in contact see if it is still up and running Beechwood House, Spire, Murrayfield, apparently it is advertised on the BUPA website but you don't have to be private to attend it is for both!!! Hope this may help a little x x
