So I'm 8 weeks pregnant and looks like my toddler has slapped cheek syndrome. Anyone been in contact with this in early pregnancy? What was the outcome?

Hi,

I’m not sure if the process would be different earlier in pregnancy but I work in a primary school and one of my pupils had slapped cheek when I was 18 weeks pregnant. I was told it’s dangerous in pregnancy so spoke to my GP about how concerned I was, they asked me if I’d had symptoms of slapped cheek etc. and arranged for me to have a blood test to check for immunity (apparently if you’ve had it before you have immunity). It’s worth speaking to your GP as I believe they have to monitor you and baby closely if you do get it xx

I had a look at my NHS trust website and it says it dangerous if you come into contact with it between 5 - 20 weeks so will call my GP on Monday to ask for a blood test and go from there.
