This is my first pregnancy at the age of 42 after many years of infertility and unsuccessful IVFs/FETs. I am over the moon to be pregnant but naturally very worried that everything will be ok. I have a scan on Monday and will be 6week +1. Did those of you that had a scan this early get to see a heartbeat?
Thank you

I did, yes. On what my consultant said was 6 weeks bang on, but now my hospital says it would have been 6 weeks and 2 days based on the day 5 embryo transfer date. No one can agree on these things, but it should be there by then. And if not, if it’s a slower developer, you’ll still get a lot of info from the pregnancy being in the right place and having all the right elements. The very best of luck!
Great news ! Hope scan goes well and you hear /see the heart beat For more information take a look at nhs.uk "Pregnancy week- by -week " and " Your pregnancy care "
Many congratulations to you. Fabulous news. I got pregnant at 40 via ICSI, and had my beautiful, now 15 month old baby girl. I remember my 6 week scan vividly. We got to see the little flicker on the screen and heard the most wonderful sound, our beautiful baby’s heartbeat. We cried ALOT!!
