33 weeks - red/pink discharge

I'm 33 weeks + 3 and I've had a very straightforward pregnancy so far but this morning when I wiped I had pink discharge with streaks of red in it. I phoned the maternity unit and ran everything past the midwife. She wasn't concerned by it and I've decided to wait and see what happens, but now I'm wondering if it isn't a sign of early labour, what could it be? Has anyone had this before? Obviously I'll be keeping an eye out for any contractions, pains and monitoring the baby's movement. Thanks for any info.

It’s possible it’s from the cervix-cervical ectropion is very common in pregnancy and they bleed like hell. The cervix can also just get a bit irritated without an ectropion eg due to sex. If the mat unit aren’t worried then don’t sweat, but do keep calling them if you’re worried, especially if it gets worse or you get any other symptoms. They’d rather you pestered them than leave something serious xx

Thank you for your reply. Doesn't sound like cervical ectropion would be the culprit but pregnancy is just such a minefield! Hope you're well x
