I’m currently 12 weeks pregnant. When I was 7 weeks I registered with my preferred hospital, and they posted a letter with a booking in appointment date which will be when I am 12+5. This appointment is not the scan though. They said that I would be offered a scan appointment after this booking appointment has taken place. So that will be when I’m 13-14+ weeks.
This seems very late to me. What’s your experience with nhs 12 week scan timings? X

Hi there the window for the 12 week scan if you want first trimester screening can be anywhere between 11+3 and 14+2 so you should be fine. It’s just a shame you have to wait a little longer for scan. At the very early stages it can be tricky to get measurements so later isn’t always a bad thing.x Good luck with the scan.x
Hey, congrats on your pregnancy! My scan ended up 13+4 and in my area it's common practice it's just termed a 12 week scan but rarely falls then exactly, according to the midwife I asked. If you fancy seeing bubs early many clinics will offer early private scans from 8 weeks to be confident of heartbeat. Good luck with your pregnancy xx
Hey! Mine is exactly this too - 12+5. I also thought mine was late. My booking in appointment is a week earlier.
My friend who is pregnant is having hers around 11 weeks....
Finally had my booking in appointment at 12+6 and they’ve booked in my 12 week scan for 13+6, basically the last day they can do it. Ah well, just a week to go until I see the bubba!
