Masks when at work?

hey is everyone that is pregnant and working wearing masks at work?

I have been avoiding going in, as we are still working mostly from home. I have to however go in next week and I am so worried.

We have 2 occasions where I will be eating with my colleagues....

Nobody wears masks so just feel really awkward doing it....

I will still wear my mask as much as possible...

Just wondering is anyone else going through this and any advice?

My partner has just recovered from covid and I have been trying to avoid it at home....

x

If unsure about wearing mask you could make sure you are in a well ventilated area or even eat outside . Also use your hand gel after touching surfaces Take care

Hello lovely.

I work from home so don’t have that specific problem, but I do have a few big family events coming up (250+ people) I can’t really get out of so I plan to mask at those. No one else will be masking, and I’ll probably get heckled to take my mask off particularly by my husband’s family, but I intend to stick to my guns! I TOTALLY empathise though: it’s not easy being the odd one out and I’m dreading that too.

For the work meals, one thing you can do is open all the windows/ask staff to open the windows if it’s at a restaurant and maybe mask when you’re not eating.

Xxx

Yes sounds similar. If everyone knew I was pregnant I wouldn't care about wearing a mask, but as I am still very early and want to hide from work feel so awkward....

Good luck with your events!

Will make sure the places we go are well ventilated!

Yes luckily I am visibly pregnant at this point so I imagine most people at the events will understand. Unfortunately though my husband’s family love to tell me about people they know who are pregnant and not taking any precautions and how I should do the same 🫣.

Ps you could say to people you have been struggling with health issues so are trying to avoid viruses on top of this. Not really a lie as first trimester can be v physically tough!

Yes good idea.....I will blag it somehow!! X

Hey there, I wear a mask all the time and hardly anyone has questioned it. If anyone asks why I’m wearing a mask I often answer with a question such as why do you dye your hair?? Or why do you choose to wear jeans etc …. Personal choice. No one can argue with that🤣👍. Just you do whatever makes you comfortable.x
