Bit of a scare at 11.5 weeks!

I just wanted to post this as I was so worried this weekend and it might help someone else.

Basically on Saturday afternoon I noticed a brown stain on my liner, obviously I panicked and called 111 I was also feeling pretty horrible not just pregnancy symptoms but dizzy and headachey anyway I saw the out of hours GP on Sunday and was diagnosed with a bladder infection and prescribed antibiotics also had a bit of further light brown spotting but also noticed soreness down there and have been using pessaries 3 times a day so spotting was put down to the infection and irritation on the cervix.

just back from a trip from EPU and scan was perfect. I mainly just wanted to write the post to say sometimes in your pregnancy you just don’t notice the signs of other issues going on and spotting doesn’t always mean what we all fear but just get help advice asap I am so glad I did!!!!

Hi Star. So pleased all is settling down again. Pessaries are known to irritate the cervix in some ladies, but is easily remediesd using the back passage and possibly a course of antibiotics. Hope all continues as it should. Diane

Thanks!! Also just wondering does a probiotic also help with infections reoccurring?

Hi. Can help to stop it reoccurring. Check with midwife as to the best one to take. Diane
