36 years old - low amh, 3 failed iui and 1 failed ivf

After ivf I had -Ve pregnancy test today and started my periods.

My story is really long but to give you an idea - I had my tests done before COVID thing started in December 2019 that's when they found that my amh is slightly on lower side i.e. 6.9 still they went ahead with treatments in October 2020 - 3 failed IUI and now 1 failed IVF.

I am 36 right now and I am sure my amh must have gone further down since December 2019.

As I was going through NHS funded treatment I felt like it was kind of a tick box exercise.

I worst feeling I had was in my ivf treatment when clinic transferred 3 cells embryo on 3rd day, after lots of reading I knew it ain't gonna implant.

Devastated and heartbroken is understatement and I just can't stop thinking about it that so much time has been wasted and I am running out of time.

Now that I have to go private, I wanna make sure that I know everything and choose the right clinic.

All your inputs are most welcome and would be grateful if you all can guide me through the right direction as I see no light at the end of the tunnel right now 😞😞

I don't have any input / help / advice at this point in time as we're just starting on our fertility journey.

Just wanted to say hello and let you know you're not alone.

I'm almost 37, with endometriosis (treated with surgery to give me the best chances), my AMH is 5.6, and been TTC for about 2 years. We are going privately for IVF, once I get my thyroid levels normal - I have just been diagnosed with Hashimoto's (autoimmume hypothyroidism) which our private fertility specialist has said hypothyroidism can be one of the main causes for infertility in women, she advises TSH to be below 1 before IVF, most NHS hospitals just aim for "within range" so it's worth check that.

From researching into Private IVF vs NHS they seem to tailor your meds more according to your cycles, will do additional blood tests and scans. There are a few plans available which offer package deals for a certain number of cycles, that's what we're looking at because it's peace of mind knowing there's no additional costs during that time unless we want something.

I would suggest looking into a few around you and seeing which ones sound good when you research the doctors there; some may focus on particular aspects of womens health, like we chose ours because she focusses on endometriosis related infertility. Also quite a few of them are satellite clinics for larger IVF centers, this can help as you'll have most appointments at the satellite clinic near you and actual procedures at the main center which helps travel times.

Obviously you have more experience than me on the actual process so you'll know what you have / haven't had and what you'd like to include. Mine will be at the satellite clinic of Oxford fertility oxfordfertility.co.uk/, which has a price list and stuff on there, that could help you decide what you're looking for; I'm still new to all the names / processes / tests etc.

I'm so sorry to hear about your failed cycles. And yes, I understand all your concerns connected with choosing where to apply for IVF privately. After loads of research done dh and I decided we'd fly to Ukraine. Firstly, for more afordable prices. Secondly, because of more treatment plans to choose from. Starting from economy 1 shot and up to ''win-win'' packages. The latter mean they give you, for ex., 5 shots. In case it's no luck - they refund money paid back. This is a nice back plan to have, as you can spend the sum on further treatments. This blew us away. I'm not sure you're looking for this option, just thought it might be useful in a way. Good luck!

Thank you for sharing. I'm hoping for you..I’m so sorry to hear there are so many of us facing fertility issues…Going through this path may be painful and long lasting if dealing with people not knowing the field…Seems this happened to me previously when we failed all our 4 rounds IVF in the UK. Devastating if not frustrating…Though we’ve been always realistic not everything depends on the clinic and staff. BUT when they literally spill the embies on the lab floor and want you to pay extra fees for this - I wish we switched much earlier! Our second fertility center is BTC in Kiev. We're currently passing surrogacy with own eggs there. Have just got just perfect news – our surrgate is prego! You know, I’ve always thought that secondary infertility is not the issue. I truly felt angry with lovelies venting they couldn’t conceive their #2. I thought ‘‘what else do you want?!!’’ But when I found myself one day in the same boat I understood, secondary is no less painful…

So we already have a 7 yo surrogacy LO, and came back again for baby#2. I cannot believe we did it! Hope for everyone's luck this year.
