IVF Medication

I have finally brought home my medication a couple of days ago, after so many set backs and years of waiting I'm finally starting to feel a glimmer of hope. I have been reading posts on here for a long time and have become familiar with some names of the medication but I have come home with medication I have not heard of, has any one else had experience with any of these, I am on the short protocol.

Norethisterone Tablets

Meriofert 300mg Stimulation Injections

Certotide 0.25mg Antagonist Injections

Hey Bernie, i was on northisterone for a few weeks before my ivf cycle started. I didn’t have any symptoms on that luckily, however the period I got once I’d finished them was quite a bit heavier than normal. I read this is completely normal so not to worry if this happens to you. I’m on different meds to you for stims and antagonist but want to wish you the best of luck in your cycle! Xx

Hi Nmhbaxy, thank you for your reply, is always good to find out other experiences and gives me something to be prepared for, I have a couple of weeks until I start them, wish I could start now.

Good luck with the rest of your cycle x x x

Hi

I have only just found this site today. I came home with my meds last night & have started the Meriofert at the same dosage as you. How’s it going, I give myself the 1st injection tonight x

Hi Roboblonde I have not started them yet, I am on my fifth and last day of the tablets, but now I have to wait for a bleed to start before I can start the meriofert so I cannot comment at the moment, it will be at least 5-7 days before I start those injections but I would be very interested to know how you get on with them X

First injection went ok, we should have give ourselves more time to prepare as it took us far longer than expected. Hopefully it will get easier. Feeling really tired today but that could be the build up this week.

Good luck to you xxx

I’m on day 7 tonight & doing ok. Feeling a little nauseous & a sore belly but have started to get the hang of the injections 😊Good luck to you Bernie xxx

Oh Bernie. I'm so much proud of you! I thought we'd have to buy meds elsewhere when we finally turned to DE IVF abroad as the last resort. To my surprise, all the needed meds were included into the package price! So we didn't have to buy those independently. It was really comfortable. My infertility struggling history is quite long. We'd tried IUIs and OE IVFs before finally turned to DE IVF. Among the meds I used in the long run were: Femara 5 & Purgon 75, Purgon 150 & Clomid 100. Also Superfact & Purgon 300, vitamins and supplements (paid a fortune through years!) I'm wishing you the best of luck on your way ahead. Please, keep us posted. Hugs 😘
