IVF drugs on NHS.. the £££?

Hello all 🥰

Can anyone tell me if those who have IVF on the NHS are given the medication or have to pay. We are due to have our first appt with our chosen cclinicin the next few months and just want to get money in place to get started. Is it normal prescription costs or does it run into £££'s

If anyone can give me some advice it will be hugely appreciated & also where is the cheapest if we have to pay?

Thanks in advance

xXx

I had to pay about £30.00 this is for a prepayment nhs certificate which is valid for 3 months. Any meds in those months you don’t pay anything extra just that one cost

The clinic told me when to apply then I had to give them the certificate number 😊

Hi ! I had only one cycle with NHS as I am 41 and was entitled to one free cycle. I haven’t paid anything.

Good luck with your journey! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Hi I had to pay but I got a prepayment NHS certificate so works out alot cheaper. You're hospital will be able to advise you of it further.

All meds were free, however, I had to pay a prescription fee for a swap of progesterone injections to pessaries

I just requested pessaries 2nd round so didn’t need to pay it the 2nd time xx

Hi there! Same as Sorax and Sofi, I had to pay £30 for a one-off fee for prescription card and that was it! Unfortunately it didn’t work and we moved onto private IVF. Let’s just say I was wishing for that £30 cost again 😅 medication on my last (and thankfully successful ICSI cycle) was £1500+! And that was a short protocol 🥴

Good luck ♥️
