US sperm bank use in UK and embryo transport to Australia

Hi all. Apologies in advance for the slightly longer post. I have been travelling to Australia to do egg freezing but Covid has put an end to that. The next step was to try and make some embryos.

There are quite strict rules about transporting embryos with donor material into Australia due to donor rules. I think a lot are similar to the UK - maximum 10 families, child has access to donor at 18 etc. I have been told if I can find a donor that meets Australian and UK requirements I may be able to bring embryos back to Australia in the future.

My questions are:

1. Does anyone know if any London clinics use sperm from the California Cryo Bank (CCB) or the Seattle Sperm Bank? These are both used by clinics in the city where I would look to potentially transport.

2. Has anyone ever successfully transported embryos containing some donor material into/out of UK or Australia?

Thanks!

Hey,

I’m with a London clinic and one of the banks they recommended was the California one you mention. I used an international one though xx
