I haven't had that personally but yes that's done during IVF often. It's believed that when there is a twin transfer chances are high that at least one of them will stick... which is why some clinics prefer that for older women. Yes, you can be lucky and both the embryo might just stick even if you've been struggling with infertility. You'll find out when you test for pregnancy - if it's a beta the limit will directly indicate twin pregnancy and on HPT you might just get a test line and no control line. Not sure if everyone gets it but I had it that way, mine was natural though... I quite didn't figure that I could be pregnant and then when I finally had to check there was no control line - the test line stole all the dye. Wish you luck!
Hi! We passed 3 rounds ivf with donor egg overseas. Each time they placed back 2 5-day blasts. My organism was just well to carry twin pregnancy in case. Besides this was the option for boosting chances, though they say you need just one. In our case during shot 3 one of our embies vanished and another one made home and developed into a healthy boy. Not most of the clinics perform it with 2 embryo transfer. But other clinics feel absolutely free about it. Personally I believe this is up to couples to decide how many they would like to try. It's their choice. Also I made home test after day8 after ET. It showed faint positive, all the following days the second line was getting darker.
Hi Tinker, though all my knowledge of IVF so far is from the various forums and voracious reading on the internet, twin transfer is definitely possible. It's an accepted way to boost your chance of success in the most basic way as one of the embies usually sticks. However, there are certain considerations on the Doctor's part - most don't prefer twin transfer on young patients <30. Especially, if their health conditions seem not optimum to support two babies in the womb.... as there are a high chance of both the embies latching in young women. You'll get to know around the normal time i.e. after the 2ww wait. Wish you luck!
